C5 Corvette Vs. C32
Ok everyone, i have a few questions.
i used to own a C5 Corvete and was pleased with the performance. I have been looking into C32's because the HP and TQ are almose the exact same, but it's a nicer car in my opinion.
Which car would win (stock vs stock) in a straight line race?
What about in handling?
And how much does the C32 weigh?
thanks in advance guys.

I smoked a C5 a few months ago.. but the guy was a horrible driver so I can't confirm what would have happened. I launched perfect with little to zero wheel spin and dude spun his wheels for about a half second and I was at least 5+ car lenghts ahead at 100 and he didn't seem to be pulling on me before I shut it down, but it was hard to tell..
He must have felt stupid as hell.. I was giggling the whole way.. lol

+1 I have smoked one as well. I have also smoked a buddy in his C5.

nice...do me a favor and let me know if you like the fitment and construction of the carbon fiber hood when you get it...i had one on another car and did not like how flimsy it seemed...it would bounce up and down pretty violently when i was just cruising at 70mph...just curious if it is any different on our cars...

see, this is why i am going to take the video camera next time...i get tired of the nay-sayers...but whatever, it doesn't do any good to discuss this with you, because you have your mind made up already...of course even with the video, you will probably call foul on that and say it is doctored...oh well, i am done...

C32 AMG - in Pewter
C5 kill is quite likely.
The C6 is actually 400 hp:
Engine Type: V8
Horsepower (hp @ rpm): 400@6000
Torque (ft-lbs @ rpm): 400@4400
Some facts from official (auto mags) road tests:
2005 Corvette C6 - from Edmunds, may not be the best road test result:
0 - 60 (sec): 4.8
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 12.90@109.06
2002 C32 stock - best times from AutoCar review Jun 27th 2001:
0-60 - 4.6 sec
1/4 mile - 13.0 at 107
Above 100 mph, the C6 will likely start gaining but before that, it is a dead heat, so Corvette owners should not act or look that surprised if they knew...

Why do you have to be defensive all the time when it comes to Corvette????
Do you really think its necessary to prove your point and bash other people who's saying otherwise??
I thought the original poster was posting C32 against C5 Vette, not your goddamnyouknowwhat C6????
If you dont like what other people was saying just ignore it... no one gives a crap about your C6.

Also those are some of the lowest perf quotes ever that you dug up on the C6..
Go to Corveteforum.com....You don't stand a chance in hell against a C6...
there are more than half a dozen timeslips of my same model C6 over there..
2005 C6 A4 trans w/3.15 gears
1/4 in 12.50 @ 112 0-60 in 4.1-4.2
The reason you get such wild swings in Vette perf, is they allways test the manual 6 speed, not the Auto, as you know the skill of manual driver is paramount...
Plenty of other mags have the C6 at 12.20 @113-114 w/good driver and 0-60 as low as 3.9-4.2..
That's what happens w/3170lb.. 50/50 weight distrbution, 400hp 400torque C6.
It's fool proof, for consistant times just like your 5 speed auto merc's...when traction is made, the new C6 A6 Auto has acchieved 12.20 @ 115..
Please enlighten us as to your Dyno rwhp & rwto levels?????
Average C6 dyno at 350-355 rwhp 350-360 rwto..
Mine Dynoed at A&A Corvette at 350rwhp 360rwto
If you want I'll scan and post it..
Your races if ligit must involve incredible neglegent driving in the C6, no other wa around it...
I'll go get more C6 1/4 records of real world action from the site I mentioned...
