W211 AMG Discuss the W211 AMG's such as the E55 and the E63

I just lost to a V3 335i coupe.

I just lost to a V3 335i coupe.

I raced a V3 335i I met at the meet tonight! I lost to the V3 335i on every highway pull by about 2 car lengths. From a dig though my E55 was jumping out in front. We made videos that will be posted up soon. Both car's had camera's. He said he has beatn a gallardo, c63, e92 M3, and he can add E55 to that list lol. My supercharger turned off on me a few times but not during the runs. Bringing it to the dealer this weekend, I need a new IC PUMP!

If your s/c shut off on you before, I'm pretty sure your IAT's were high and your ecu was pulling timing during those runs. Get a new IC pump and run him again.

You're not the only forum member here to loose & then re-run a modded 335i, I did vs a J3 tuned 335i, then MJ50 RENN stg 1 lost to the same 335i, though we both got re-matches & (IC pump & IC itself etc..repairs in my case) & both of us beat him.

335i was using race gas when I wasn't, after I used race gas the 335i couldn't touch me, then MJ50 drove a bit better & got better IC (I think, correct if I'm wrong MJ50) MJ50 pulled him by about (2) lengths after that.

I think w/J3 V3 tuning they can run pretty even w/BONE STOCK E55k & perhaps edge them slightly (when you guys heatsoak), lil' phuckers have thrown up 114-116 mph traps in optimal conditions on Dragtimes & bmw forums..

That M6 was a Convertible, there about 500lbs heavier than Coupe...M6 Coupe w/propper launch will RAPE tuned 335i

Thugh they are beating the new M3 vs a J3/V3 tuned 335 ---08 M3 vs 08 335i JB3---

But they are faster than the E63.

As has been said, get a new IC pump and have them do the 10* fan mod while it is there via STAR.

Run the race again and come back and tell us you won.

It was supposed to be a V2. The guy never showed up in a V2. So this guy in a V3 is standing behind my car and we start talking and he tell's me he had a V3. V2 will not take a E55 I know that much. HERE ARE TEH VIDEOS.

Nice meeting you last night...I was looking for you guys, you disapeared!, that 335 is very fast. You need to get that pump replaced. You told me supercharger shut off on you various times...you need to get that fixed ASAP!

earlier this spring I had the pleasure to race 2 335s, at MIR, that were either V2 or V3 and was faster then both of them on the 1/4 mile from the dig. DIdnt go head to head with them but were comparing time slips with them all day and they kept thinking they were gonna beat my times, but then they couldnt cause i was getting faster and faster all day as they were. Fast cars though

Nice to meet you also man. When I bumped into the kid with the V3 we were by his car for a while. I saw you leave and I probably left 20 minz after. Any suggestions for the pump? Aftermarket or just go to the dealer. Here is a few more runs we did.....

In the first video I was recording the S600 vs V3 335i and I sarted gaining on the V3 from a DIG. It's the roll that he was getting me on.

I suggest you get a Johnson CM030 pump, they have them on ebay...or search in the classified section. They may have a few there.

Shame on you guys...you should have called me!!, LOL!!! Good videos though...

Sorry about the loss. Told ya they were no joke.

Bottom line is this bro. The weak link IS and always WILL be heat on our cars. You can literally install a new IC pump every day and you will still have heat problems in your car in stock form. These things are made for bout ONE kick A run, then each run slowly reduces after that.

If you ever want to start modding her, make cooling mods at the top of your list. Not going to GIVE you hp as much as helping the car recover quicker after hard runs.

I don't have the most mods, but I am sure near the top of the list and even with Johnson 90 pump in a separated intercooler circuit with a MASSIVE code 3 heat exchanger.....my car still will act sluggish a bit after 2 or 3 hard runs in a row.

Just the status quo until Benz saves us with TTV8 coming soon.

When you said your supercharger turned off, I would like to know how
you could tell. Obviously you would loose power but are there other signs
it's switched off, it's joined to the crank by a belt, I just can't get my head
around the word " switched off " . Sorry if I sound thick, I would like to know.

It sounds like your mechanical issues were your demise. Lets do a pump upgrade, fluid swap and reroute the lines. That should help tremendously.

With the V3 program he is making about 15lbs/boost which will make those turbos eventually eat themselves up unless he has an upgraded oil cooler and there is still a chance that they will fail. There has been a number of turbo units in the 135/335/535 that have eaten themselves up already.

Remember, when tuning a car, reliability and a proven track record that the mods have worked for an extended period of time is paramount. With the V3 there hasn't been an extended period of time to see what type of mechanical issues will rear their ugly head regardless on how good it seems now. There are a large number of software people that can get great numbers out of many different cars but it usually is a short term deal until you have a MAJOR problem.

Plus your car is STOCK! Keep your head up and lets start the tuning process.

No. I've put the hurt on a V2 and my car is basically Kleemann stage 1, no exhaust except for resonator delete. 30 to 110+ wasn't even close. A V3 would be about equal to your car if it's running right.

He had his car at max boost when you started to race and his car is an automatic. His car shifted pretty quickly after the go which shows he was in his power band already. You should have tried a slower roll.

A little tuning to your E55 will make it a much different race!
