WTF, my throttle died on the highway!
This mornig I was driving to work, getting on the I287 ramp, a EVO8 was right behind me and no car was on the highway so I downshift to 4 WOT from 40 - 60mph up shift to 5, then to 6 around 80... try to upshift around 90, BAM! My ESP light went on, and RPM dropped... I stepped on the throttle... NOTHING!!! The EVO behind me almost kissed my ***!!! He shook his head as he blew pass me. I pull to the service lane quickly before the semis ran me over! Put the gear in Park, a warning message displayed saying that my ESP is unavailable. I had to restart the car.
I think I have read here someone had the similar issue... so WTF? This is so dangerous, luckily the EVO behind me wasn't really on my tail when I took off from the ramp.
Does anyone know what happened? Should I take it to service? Or perhaps it has something to do with my ECU flash?

For the op of that thread, Artichaze, his was a pedeal sensor problem. But if you got the ECU tune recently it could be a possibility like Josh, C63guy, posted about hittin the torque limit. RPI is currently trying to come out with a ECU for the car so when I test drove it I got that as well while driving on the road.

I had the same problem, although with my CLK63 BS, and it was caused by flashing the ECU with a different program from a tuner. Hitting the torque limit is triggered by the yaw sensors.......

Could someone explain more in detail about this? Although I was told this was the case on my car, I have no idea what it means.

Same thing happened to me once.. Was in sport, held the shifter to the left, WOT, ESP died and gas pedal wasn't working. Turned car off and back on, no issues. I have not been able to duplicate it since.

I also have a Eurocharged tune and this has happened to me on one occasion... Definitely some scary stuff. It was after some pretty high speed runs with lots of up/down shifting. Judging by the other thread on this topic though, it seems like people who have other tunes have experienced this too. Hopefully the kinks have been ironed out by now and all that's needed is a reflash.

From what I have read, it seems to me that this issue occurs when using the shifters...
I drove this car for a long and never had any problem... this happened when I f'd around with the shifters at high speed... maybe it does has something to do with the tune and the torque limiter

What tune were you running?

Makes me wonder if this is an actual issue with the car or the aftermarket tune.
Just FYI when I got the car back from the dealer after they replaced the pedal I immediately had the car reflashed again. I've been trying very hard to trigger it again but so far so good. I actually called MBUSA about this issue and started complaining and they said I'm a unique issue. They make thousands of X63 AMG cars and I'm one of the very few with the throttle issue. It seems like its more wide spread than I thought of.
