Anyone with a 4 door GT63? Not many reviews out there

Hey, just wondering if I can get some feedback on this vehicle. I can't find many reviews out there on the regular (not e-performance) 63. Curious how the two compare. I got a feeling the non hybridized version might hold it's value a little better over the long term than one with a giant battery. But who knows. Would love to hear how these perform in curves and straight line acceleration. I've had a panamera turob s e-hybrid so curious how they compare. Also, i'm thinking of getting the 2 door gt63, which would be less practical. Thanks everyone!

Although the E Performance is heavier its weight distribution is better, so it handles surprisingly well. The battery pack is far from huge. You lose some trunk space. All the journalists prefer the non Performance because their brains are wired to always choose the lighter car, but they all say it a wonder through the corners even with its extra weight due to the weight distribution. As for resale, IMO an E Performance GT63 is an extremely rare vehicle. Properly maintained I think it will hold its value more because it’s an AMG built vehicle, some beefed up version of a vehicle you could find on the streets on Berlin as a taxi.

I was able to drive the GT 63 S 4-door and the GT 63 S E Performance 4-door on the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. I wouldn't consider either one to be a track car, but the track allowed for a proper comparison. I have to disagree with the above post. The weight distribution is overshadowed by the weight itself. The SE Performance wanted to leave the track in the corners. The extra weight at high cornering speed caused it to push out of the corner and as a result I had to take the corners significantly slower than in the regular GT 63 S. The additional power of the E Performance was washed out by its weight. I much preferred the regular GT 63 S after driving them back to back. The GT 63 S E is a German Autobahn travel rocket. Going mostly in a straight line at high speed, the weight doesn't matter, but if you like to corner, the S E isn't the car for it.

As for the 2-door, I drove that, too. Different level altogether. Just more of a sports car hunkered down and much more at home on the track and driven dynamically in general. While the 2-door is fairly heavy as well, it's still significantly lighter than the 4-door and you can feel that. Weight is the ultimate performance killer, no matter how much folks want to ignore it. 300 lbs difference is an obese person in your trunk at all times. It doesn't go unnoticed.

that’s interesting! Great feedback! Did they change the outdoor styling at all for 2026? I always thought they looked pretty large in the back, but I saw a gt53 in a parking lot yesterday and I thought it was an Audi rs7. Looked good!

just curious if the values of these cars with big hybrid batteries will drop drastically right after the full warranty ends. That’s why I sold my Panamera turbo-s e-hybrid…I can’t remember what the cost of replacing the battery was but I know it was a crazy amount. But then I found out Porsche warranties the battery for 10 years…does Mercedes do anything like that?

AMG GT 63 4 door 2023; BMW 635 1988; BMW X3 2016
I have the 2023 AMG GT 63 4 door model. I typically lean BMW and still have an old 635 in my stable. I just took the GT 63 4 door on a 3 day drive through the SD badlands, through Montana and into Canada Rockies. Overall, the trade-offs work for me. Great long distance cruiser with extra torque and HP when you want to play but steady cruiser when you want to stay within the rules. I am still using the stock Michelin tires and the ride comfort vs performance worked fine. Drove in stretches of 4-5 hours with no fatigue or body aches (get the seat massager). Plenty of hatch space to load up travel supplies and gears for an extended trip. My guests like the standard non-foldable rear seats, but when it is just two and wanting more cargo space, the fold down 3 seater option would have been useful. I put an Orvis seat cover and put some of the packages on it. No problem.
My one complaint with the GT 63 (may be a model year issue) is the high sensitivity of all the electronic warning indicators. The 12V warning comes on early after the car has sat for an extended period of time. It is just natural small drain. After ensuring that there are no serious issues via dealer check, I just ignore the warning.

Have 2024 Gt 63 se love the car for straight line power on roads do not track the car. The car had a few issues in the shop but seemed to be worked out now. To on a highway trip a couple of days ago car was averaging 31 miles to gallon

thank you guys! What’s it like around town? Unfortunately, I don’t do many long road trips…mostly around town stuff. Does it feel nimble at all, or is the weight and size substantial enough for it to be most at home on the highway? Thanks

With the car having 4-wheel steering the car feels a lot lighter than it is
