It was time to get back to an AMG. I had been driving a turbo S. The 992 turbo S is now gone and I replaced it with this beauty. Turbo S was one of the best sports cars I have had for daily use. I put about 10k miles on it over three years. Fast, and all rounder but with a lot of road noise it got a bit boring. The looks are great but to my eyes GT is a great looker on its own. I was open to and was hoping for a well equipped GT55. But I found a great deal on 63 that I couldn’t refuse. I used to drive C63 S coupe, so the coupe is more my style. The GT63 seems to have great steering and traction limited by its weight, and no match for 911. But it holds its own really well. The run flats take away some of the fun and make the car a bit stiff on rougher roads. It’s still a more comfortable car overall and I am loving it. It feels just right. I am glad I ended with 63. Test driving a 55 earlier, I much prefer the extra power of 63 now. It’s also more accessible as a passenger than a 911. Good to be back to an AMG. This was not the best financial decision, but most of my car related financial acumen is like that. Really excited and happy with the car. Looking forward to lots of happy miles.
