From my time as a BMW owner on the bimmerpost forum we would post delivery timelines. I think it's harder with MB bc they don't have a way to track your build process that Im aware of. How long did it take to get "the call" for you GT being in town from your scheduled build date in Germany?

My dealer told me they can give you your vessel to track once it's loaded on the ROLO ship.

 

Submitted final config end of October 2024.The car went into "Produced, not shipped" status on 12/19. It doesn't mean the car is built, it means the chasis has been assigned to the production line. VIN is given. All components are available to build.

Arrived to my east coast dealer first week of February.

 

where/how did you get the status updates for the car?

 

from my sales rep (no online app that I'm aware of)

 

I ordered a '26 GT55 at the end of January. I was later told by my dealer the car was built on 2/24 and as of 3/10 it was still in Germany waiting to be put on a boat. I'm hoping to get my car in mid April.

Porsche and BMW have great order tracking features that I wish MB had.

 

Produced not shipped means the vehicle has been produced and is waiting to be loaded onto a ship if built overseas, and if built in the US, waiting to be transferred to the VPC.

General rule of thumb is as follows for builds (I have over 17 years with the brand):

• estimated time to dealer after the scheduled production date if built overseas is 5-8 weeks
• estimated time to dealer after the scheduled production date if built in Alabama is 1-3 weeks

Once a vehicle has been produced and it has a VIN the dealer can track the vehicle through the entirety of it's delivery journey in a tool called FreightVerify, and can communicate those updates to the customer.

Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate it. My production date is 4/7. I was thinking it would be end of May when it rolls into town. It would be cool if MB let orders be tracked by the customer.
