Anyone Ceramic Coat Their Own Car?
Well, cheapskate me is about to try this endeavor lol. I thought about getting full or partial PFF, but I don't like PFF. It's too noticeable to me and I'm trying to museum this car; it's going to be driven and enjoyed. I

I’ve ceramic coated two of my past cars. The process itself is super easy. The key is everything before applying the coating.
I recommend a full wash, clay bar-ing the car to lift all contaminants off the paint, compound and polish, and then applying he ceramic coasting last. This will ensure the paint is as perfect as possible both in terms of smoothing out any scratches and ensuring maximum color depth, gloss and shine. When I did this to my F Type is took me two 7-8 hour days but it was totally worth it.

Just noticed you linked a coating for matte paint so there is no polishing required. Just a thorough wash and perhaps a spray on iron decontamination followed by panel prep spray and you should ready for coating.

Yeah, I thought the prep would be different because of the matte paint. I can’t really do any real correcting, but I will prep it best I can. I also purchased Car Pro’s Mad Matte spray sealant as a maintenance detailer.

Works well even if you are not that detail oriented. Clean car, apply ceramic coat (there are a number of similar products), and repeat every few months to maintain extraordinary shine and protection.

Just spent all day prepping and ceramic coating my car. I watched countless YouTube videos on how to do this and the hardest part was indeed the prep. I spent an hour air compressing the car to get every ounce of water out. However, I did not do any paint correction because of the matte finish, but I did prep the panels very well. The actual application was easy. I also ceramic coated my wheels as well.
I’m just wondering am I supposed to have half a bottle left? I felt like I was generous on the amount used per the online guides but I still have more than half a bottle left.

There’s not many ceramic coating designed for Matte paint. Dr. Beasley was the other but I chose Gyeon based on my research.

After paying thousands throughout the years to ceramic coat various vehicles, I'm considering a DIY after my soon-to-be-here GT 63 arrives and gets full front PPF and window tinting. Those two alone ought to be around $2500+, so I'm going to give the ceramic coat a try myself.
Any DIY-ers apply the coating over PPF? Any issues to consider?

Overall, it was much easier than I thought, especially on a brand new car. I would buy a good decon like this. Gyeon Prep Redefined 1000 ml - Pre Coating Car Prep Spray | Ceramic Coating Prep Spray for Proper Ceramic Coating Application https://a.co/d/00PqMx8N.
I couldn’t really prep it more than that decon, but for metallic paints, it’s recommended to clay bar and paint correct as needed. Get an air compressor and blow out all water in trim pieces then apply one panel at a time. Using clean, fresh microfiber towels is important after application to level the finish. Let it cure for 24 hours although it can take weeks to fully cure. No washing or water in that time.
