Exclamation What kinda of phone does this cradle use ?

I have a phone cradle in my September 2001 C220 Avantgarde however i have no idea what kinda phone i can use with the cradle.

The car is Portugal and the car was purchased in Germany if that makes a difference. I am currently in Canada and will be going to Portugal soon so unfortunately I donnot have direct access to the cradle until i get there, but i was hoping someone with the same thing could tell me what models fit ..

I know it is for Nokia phones just dunno what models.

Look at attached pictured to see phone cradle.

depending on the control unit for the phone, it will work with a Nokia 5110, 6110, 6210, 6310 & 6310i (the last 2 will only work if the control unit has ever been swapped for a newer one).

greetingz,

greetingz,
So the first 3 are guranteed to work, but hte last 2 ( 6310/6310i) only if the control unit has been upgraded. Which I no think it was.

I am probably better off just going with one of the first 3 then ?

Do these phones need to have some kinda upgraded software or can i just grab any Nokia 6210 ,throw it in and it will work ?

Similar Situation

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can tell me how to check whether I have the updated control unit or the old version.
My car is 2002 W203, with exactly the same phone cradle as the one in the picture.
I want to know whether I can use 6310i in the car before I actually purchase the phone.

Thanks.

Hi!

You can check you software version on Nokia phones with: *#0000#

If you have a version higher then 4.07 its good.
If not, lower or same 4.07 needs to update your software version.
As per Mercedes Benz information. Only valid for Nokia.

For your serialnummber to check: press *#06#

Hope its helping you.

Regards,
Marks

Punisher, you haven't provided enough information concerning the equipment in your car. MBNZNL gave you about all that could be provided to you based on the skimpy information (your car and a photo of the cradle). No one can look into your car to tell what other equipment is installed to support the cradle. To get more, you'll have to provide more. Marks information may give you a bit more, but no one can give you a "guarantee."
