Thats a tough question, both are gonna sound clean as you can get w the right amp. I think the 2 w6's will be louder, but it really depends of how they are enclosed. so what r u planning?

i think bandpass will ruin the musicality of the w7. it's such a fantastic sub...i would say do the single w7 in a huge ported enclosure tuned to like 37hz. boom...

or sell the amp and sub and get a RE XXX 15" with a us amps 2000x and remove some paint and screws randomly throughout the car. .

Here's my real simple but killer sounding setup in my leased E55.
JL Audio 1000/1 Amp for two 12W6V2 subs in a custom ported box.
JL Audio 450/4 Amp for Focal K2 Power speakers.
JL Audio CleanSweep.
The box you choose is crucial to the performace of your subwoofer(s). I had a very experienced installer make mine. I had the factory sub removed for sound passage into the cabin from the rear shelf (full of DynaMat). No cutting done whatsoever anywhere on my car.

I don't have any experience with the 13W7's other than seeing them in dB drags & SPL contests. They are total overkill for daily driver applications and pretty expensive too, IMO. Get 2 12W6 for tight, clean, loud bass. That's is more than adequate. Just my .02

I had a 13w7 powered by the 1000/1 amp,and that thing is crazy loud not to mention it weighs a ton!!! Now I have a 12w6v2 powered by the 500/1 and I really think that is just right and not overkill like the 13w7.

I say get the two 12W6's & get rid of the 13 if you can.
Invest in a proper sized PORTED box and make sure the guy that fabricates it is a pro. Hey, it's only money...

Whatever you buy...just make sure you power it properly. I have a single 13W6 powered by a 1000/1 to ensure the sub gets CLEAN power at it's limit. The fastest way to kill a speaker is to underpower it and then push it to it's limit.

Good luck...

How does it sound?...and a 1000/1 should be plenty for a 13w7 right?

JL 1000/1 is plenty of clean power for 2 12W6's. Trust me.

Check out my old thread from a year ago it's kinda related to this thread. JL Audio rules!

Torquey is right...the 1000/1 is a stout amp and the 12W6's can take some punishment (from JL's site there comfort range is at around 500w).

As far as how it sounds, I don't know how it sounds yet...I'm just telling you from past experience with regard to subwoofers and their power needs. I've been with my car for 2 days in the past 5 weeks. The 1st three it was with my tuner getting all the go fast/stop quick stuff put on, then I went overseas for 10 days. Since I've been gone and upon my return, the 55's been at my A/V installer. He'll have it for another 10 days or so...it's getting a COMPLETE overhaul.

My installer is putting together a digital pic diary of the whole install, so I'll post it on the forum. Also, he was an IASCA judge so I am sure the quality sound will be there. I'm just getting antsy not having my baby for so long.

PS JL does rule...

Any aftermarket sub sounds better than stock sub.
