2007 C230 Wiring Harness for Radio
I am looking to replace my factory radio in my 2007 C230. Its the base unit, I think audio20 but not sure. Anyway, I want to replace it but I cannot find a wiring harness to wire in the new unit. Any of you guys know where I can get one?
I normally use metra or scosche, but so far I dont see one available.

there are several wiring diagrams floating around here and the w203 part of the forum. no need for a harnes- just find the correct wiring diagram and DIY. i'm pretty sure the antena adapter is the same as the VW's.

this is the diagram i used. although my/your radio is slightly different than the one pictured, it was good enough for me to figure out what was what.
if i were just doing a simple headunit swap i might have done what i just decsribed above. however i was doing an all out install and i didn't want to cut any factory wires. i had the harness connector and the metal clips that plug into the back of the factory radio and made my own harness from a roll of wire i had in the shop- and ran that to my processor, then from that- back to my amps.
i can't attach the same thing twice on this forum. i included it in this thread though: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/247414-audio-cables-these.html

Thanks for the reply. Well I need a harness because I do not want to cut any wires or harnesses. I want it to be a seamless integration and one that is easily reversible. Harnesses are great, but I am not sure that there are any for this car which is a bit ridiculous if its true.
I did find one that says it will work on crutchfield, but not sure how effective it is. I am considering buying the Kenwood DNX8120 NAV unit but I wont consider cutting any factory wires/harnesses.

I have a harness from my 05 203 that had audio20, I will say it is used because I connected my HU's harness to it but never went through with the install. I paid just north of $30, if you want it I'll sell it to you for $20 shipped. I also have the single din with pocket radio dash kit if you are interested.

Where did you get it or what is the make/model? Is the 2005 the same as 2007?
I have not bought a new HU yet so I dont want to buy it until I know. If I cannot find one, then I would definitely buy that one if it works.
Do you have any pics of it?

I purchased the harness from a shop that was local to me when I lived in Nor Cal. I dont remember where I bought the radio surround from. I'm 99.9% sure the 05 and 07 have the same non nav radio, I dont think it was changed until the 204 came out. I dont have any pictures off hand, both items are in storage in my basement, I'll try to locate them and pull them out tonight and post pics.

they should be the same- the facelift came in 2005 and stayed the same until the w204 came out.
as i stated- i made my own from a new harness connecter and clips i had imported. that way- all of the stock wiring is behind the dash uncut/unmolested.
also- beware of the fact that, depending on the model headunit you install, your steering wheel controls may not work. i know the AVIC series from Pioneer is a good swap to our cars, not sure about other models and brands though.

I am now hearing that the radio will not fit in my car nor is there a double-din kit or harness for the 2007 C230.
Can any of you guys confirm this to be true or false. This is frustrating.

Well my research revealed the following
DIN Kit from Scosche for 05+ C-class
http://www.shop.com/Scosche_Mz2347b_...p!.shtml?trk=1
Wiring Kit from Metra
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...F8&me=&seller=
Connects to your factory wiring and then you use these wires to splice into the aftermarket unit wiring, so you don't cut any of your factory wires so it's fully reversible.
Here is someone who put in Kenwood 7100 in an 07 C230

Here is an example of someone using the metra kit and connecting a Pioneer Z1
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...=1#post1775408
Now I didn't find anything specific for the kenwood DNX8120 but I believe it shouldn't be an issue.

Wow thanks. I will check into all that. I did find the scosche kit, but for some reason crutchfield and others say the dnx8120 and all other double-din NAV units will not fit. Not sure why...
As for the harness, according to metra, they dont make a harness. Check this out:
http://www.the12volt.com/wireinfo/20...its/11552.html
Someone pointed me to this harness and said it might fit if I dont have the Bose system, which I have no idea.
http://www.ambientweather.com/ptsisbw01b.html
I do not know. Also, crutchfield says they have one here:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...709003&tp=2977
Here is another link that may be relevant:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...%3Den%26sa%3DN
In any event, there seems to be so many questions regarding this. I am just looking for a straight forward answer as to exactly what I need and if it will work.
I may need to remove my radio to find out for sure. Does anyone have a specific radio removal guide for this car? I have seen a few guides posted, but nothing where the pics looked like my dash. I see no plastic to simply pull like most cars, so it looks difficult.
