You are correct that it allows you to enter your own information. We do have a custom remote start for the 2003 ML. It is the same price as the normal system, but is custom assembled per order.

Just a few, but no reported problems. At this stage they are custom assembled one at a time per order. We have not had them mass produced because the demand has been very low.
with 2000-03 ML's, be aware that sometimes it sees two keys as you would have to give up one for remote start... and then you are on a trip to the dealer for a very expensive reprogram. seen it a few times, and heard the stories from others. I'd wait for midcity to come up with something or upgrade to a newer ML
... most likely wait
... most likely wait
That's good, because I only have ONE key...I know, I know, I need to suck it up and go the the dealer and get another one...just in case...
I'm definately very interested in this remote starter...just don't want to screw up my beloved ML's electrical system, or spend $1000 on something that I end up disconnecting because of related problems...
My husband's Grand Cherokee has weird electrical problems that I believe are connected to the remote start...installed as an aftermarket...he keeps telling me that I will be happier just living without it...yet he hasn't had his system removed!

I think that vehicles that weren't designed for a remote start do have problems or end up with problems eventually by adding an aftermarket one. I had one installed in my truck and even though i can not specifically point to the problems being due to the install of a remote start, I believe that was the problem. What I like about THIS remote start, is that it works with the factory system. Or...at least I know keyless go is similar to the remote start just not by remote. I know that sounds weird but it makes sense to me. (because I do not have to manually insert or turn a key).
MB is talking out of their **** at times, I know many many techs and factory reps, and not one of them can speak electronics or fiber optics in technical terms. not saying all, just most.
MB acts like their vehicles don't have issues, hell 99.9% of the yearly service repairs (not preventive maintenance) are MB's messing up on their own without the assistance of the aftermarket parts.
Plus there is laws for them stating that it is illegal to void a warranty because an aftermarket part is installed, now if there was a compilable MB remote start from MB and you added an aftermarket remote start.. they could... but they don't. a freaking Buick comes with remote start...
also their accessories are pretty much half arsed themselves, for instance the ipod solutions for the 07-10 vehicles... oh... mb accys meant the golf clubs, luggage, plate frames, shirts, skirts...
Video in motion like that link above, well it is what it is, dont know who built it, but it isnt a midcity piece that i have used nor a navtv one... maybe it was the guys with the $99 bypass

Hi I'm so hoping to find an autostart that will work on my 2003 ML 350. 17 below the other morning, doors had frozen shut, etc. and we are having an extremely NICE winter, all in all, here in North Dakota.
I looked at the Cartronics site, and it appeared to be allowing me to order the needed system, however, it also allowed me to order for a MC 237, just made that up to test the order system, so apparently it's just CGI code or something that fills in whatever the customer types??? Cartronics' website DOES list "remote start" under the items available for my model and year.
The Mid-City Site does not list my ML as having a remote starter kit available.
PLEASE tell me that one is available!!!!!

Yes, we make an interface for your W163. However, it is only an integration module, not an entire remote start since the act of starting isn't done using a data network like newer vehicles that have a smartkey. That vehicle requires an aftermarket alarm/remote start system (i.e. viper, compustar, etc) and our interface module, which handles the immobilizer interface, not requiring you to give up a key for the remote starting process. jbondox is right in stating that those particular vehicles can have their keys locked out by the vehicle if the remote start isn't done correctly and the vehicle is presented with more than one key at the same time. Our module doesn't allow that to happen.
Thanks!
Ordered my remote start from Cartonics Feb 11th.

I appreciate that you guys at Cartonics are busy workin hard on our products & understand you don't have admins to check your email & stuff, but after spending $1,105.35 I just want an update on what's going on.
Are you waiting for parts?
Is it still in the R&D phase and you're still ironing out the creases?
Is there an issue with the production/assembly?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Wow I come to this thread to read about this product and all I see is a bunch of haters and jealous pretentious children trying to troll this guy. You have such a massive problem with him? take it somewhere else off this site and let people like myself use their time productively instead of reading your childish rants and 'he said she said' nonsense....GOD I swear I feel like sending you guys into time out with your childish behaviors......SMH. It's scary to think that you guys are actually allowed to be in control of a 3 - 4000 pound machine that exceeds 2 mph.....SHEEESH

I am guessing who this client is (as we don't have a name from here), but if my guess is correct, the product has been shipped.

The MB164 would be for 164 chassis cars, not 211 - Otherwise it is just a different package and does not come with our tools. Operationally it should be the same.
