Very interesting about the way the bypass is setup. I like how it doesn't need to leave the key in the car (because the BMW's ones we have, you have to leave one). As someone with experience in this field and judging by the description your giving me, this sounds like a top notch product.
Yes, I know Ken (of Omega R&D in Georgia) personally. Yes, he's always been ahead of the industry. Also, he has always been focused on enriching the consumer with knowledge about auto security and the stuff works to protect your vehicle.
Yes, it is ironic that since DEI lost the lawsuit, they then ended up buying Trilogix Electronic Systems of Canada. We used to use Trilogix but once we got signed up by Fortin, we stopped the Trilogix stuff. DEI is in a world of financial trouble and they are going from public back to private and really cutting back on everything.
Ah, it uses the panic button, interesting. The add-on remote start system, which we make, you press the lock button 3 times, but this won't work on a Benz because of the ignition system. We also manufacturer long range 1-way and 2-way LCD remote starters. May I ask who you are working with for the longer range remote? I'm guessing Compustar.

Adding Aftermarket Alarm/Remote Starter
I read that your were in the process of adding a provision for your remote starter to use an additional unit for increased range. Are you possibly adding any provisions to add additional sensor inputs for increased security to the OEM Alarm like Glass Sensor,Tilt Sensor,Shock Sensor etc?, or using some CAN interface to combine your unit with a 2way Security/Remote Starter Unit? I would diffently be interested in that. Please notify me if you are, I currently have a 09 CL63 that I would like to try it on but would like to increase the security of the vehicle as well as the range of the remote starter. Thank You,Alex.

Can you elaborate a bit on the installation? I wonder why the dealer has to do it if it's a plug in device? To be honest with you I despise most dealers, my local one particularly, and hate having them go near my car. With good reason too; I've left my car with them for warranty repairs two times, and they managed to damage it both times.

The car already has a tilt sensor (all models except C-class, I think). Shock sensors are very prone to false alarm from numerous things. Glass sensor is a pretty safe bet, however an interior motion sensor would be the best idea. MB has one that can be installed, but it's quite pricey. MB should have the interior sensor equipped stock in U.S., my friend's 07 530i has one and can be disabled via the remote control fob.

I think the 05+ W203's (after the interior facelift) don't have a tilt sensor, our 07 c230 does not have it and they don't have TeleAid standard either. Ya, the thing keeps getting more stripped and more expensive

Ah you just jogged my memory. The tilt sensor was removed in either 2006 or 2007. I remember this from my past loaners. They removed a lot of items by 2007, including all of the prewiring, cell phone compartment, the stubby cell phone antenna on the rear window, started using only black for the headlight switch area, so if you have a white interior, you're screwed, it's gonna be black! Cheaper fog lights that don't have the same fit and finish... I could go on! By the time the W204 came out, I would say that the C class is no longer of the same quality as other Mercedes, too many missing features, and materials that are cheaper.

sorry, i missed your question...
if you have a remote with no panic button you have two options: we can retask another button on the remote... for instance the trunk button normally has a 'press' function and a 'press and hold' function. alternately we are developing long range aftermarket remote adapters that will allow you to start your mercedes from 1000-2000 feet and those will be available shortly...

Can you tell us if your system will sense the temp and turn on the seat warmers if it's cold, or turn on the rear-defroster? Does it interact with the climate control at all? Also, does it run the car for # minutes and then turn off? If so, will it let you restart it again? Sorry for all the ?
This is going to be a great addon! Thanks Mid-City!

Can you give us any more details of what the installation involves to explain why the stealer has to do it? I thought you said it was plug and play at one point in a different thread? I seriously want to buy this, but I don't want to pay for labor when I have the skills to install myself. Thanks.
