It takes a little bit or work to get everything together but it will be worth it once it all comes together...
I'm with you now!! Thanks for entertaining my questions.

I just received some joke snail mail from my local stealership...

" ... remote car starters are now available on certain MB models. This is in response to your many inquiries about this feature....

... Remote Starters will be available at the introductory price of $1599 through April 30th only. After that date, the cost is $1799."

This has to be a joke!!! I bet you could find an old used car with a remote starter in it for less!! I wonder if they are using this midcityengineering design.

Yes its our starter module and many MB dealers are now selling the starter product directly as well.

Rob, will this work on a 2004 E320? How much is it directly through MCE? And of course the most important question: Can it be installed by myself or do I have to drive it to a stealership to get it installed?

Thanks!

PS: Did you guys ever finish the Valentine 1 harness for 2004 W211's?

Any more news on the manual and non panic mode models?

I love mine! It's been a little quirky at times. I seem to have an issue where sometimes when the vehicle is remote started it can be opened from the handle without an unlock, and the panic alarm goes off immediately.

And my only other complaint is that it doesn't turn on the seat heaters. But other than that, I love it!

Mid City connected me with a local installation place that did it. I believe it was $1K plus I got a compustar 1500 foot range extender with remotes.

When exactly does your GL have the issue with the lock? Is it when you lock with the extended range remote or with the factory keyfob... Also do you have keyless go? We havent had any reported issues with locking but I'll be glad to look into it and get it resolved for you.

The seat heater activation has been a big request and we are going to be adding that as a feature in the next software version (which we will be able to update for you)..

The 2004 E is covered and available. We dont actually sell the starters directly though (for liability reasons). We have a network of shops and dealers that sell and install the starters all over the country. If you give us a call we can set you up with one in your area...

We did actually build a few V1 interface modules for the older W211/W219/W209 and they work really well. We are in the process of designing a new universal V1 module that will cover almost all of the models, add some features and cost a little bit less.. Thats the one that you'll want to get

The newest firmware is in testing right now and includes a non-panic activate feature (lock-unlock-lock within 8 seconds) that can be enabled via programming. There is a neutral safety data indicator on the network so we will be able to build a manual trans version of the starter. We are actually working on that this month.

I do not have keyless-go. I haven't been able to reliably replicate the issue as it has been infrequent enough, but I can work on trying to and get back to you. I think it occurs when I lock with the fob and start with the panic on one specific keyfob, but I'll have to play with it and reliably duplicate it to be sure.

I can't wait till the seat heater activation arrives! It will make next winter a breeze!

Rob,

That's fantastic news, I look forward to hearing from you in the future and can guarantee you another order.

it never ceases to amaze me how many people will blow $200 on something like a cold air intake that typically doesnt even do anything. At least with the smartkey starter we had to solve a difficult engineering problem that nobody ever did before...

that's a fact, Rob...

sometimes though, when items have been mass produced, products should be a bit cheaper though....

I thought the same, but it is in quantities of 100,000... I'd stay within my means financially

Well there is a big difference between 200 and 2000 dollars. I would consider your product at say 1000 dollars max. I would not give 700 or 800 dollars to my dealer for the privilege of buying it.

Rob, you and I might be some electronics engineers who do development of electronic circuits and understand the cost and time behind what others don't. I like the cold air intake people approach of yours

I got laugh at a few years ago when I developed a OBD II hand held scanner with capabilities that just weren't on the market. Even then when people had to pay roughly $180+ to get their DTCs read and cleared they thought it was too much to pay $249 for it. Those people bought it after they went in 3+ times and spend already more to the indy/dealership then they would have paid for my product.

One must ignore them!

Amen Mackhack... amen....

there is another remote start out that competed with robs, however when the vehicle(s) .... make sure you know I said it in plural... what's a couple hundred to ensure that never happens to a consumer? I'll be honest, most of the mid city pieces i used went on S, GL, and E class.... I assume it is for the people that understand the value of their time, trouble free operation, and bullet proof.... ah... nevermind... I tried explaining value once on the dodge forums... it was a concept that wasn't grasped...

Rob you should raise the prices!!!!!!!!!!!
