Yes, R230 (2003-2011 SL) and W220/W215 (S/CL 2000-2006) are next up to be added into the line. They will be plug-and-play as well.
We are finalizing the kits and we have to do a little more testing across some of the earlier models... You can expect them to be available around thanksgiving..![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

There was a firmware change that needed to be done and we had to resolve the best way to approach the plug-and-play connectors, both of which have been completed. Now we are in the process of going back and testing the firmware on every model year of these vehicles. The model# is SKS220 and we are going to be releasing them to our more qualified dealers in the next 2 weeks. For more info or if you have any questions, feel free to call us at 312.421.1114 or send us an email at sales@midcityengineering.com

We have actually successfully installed a working remote starter on a smartkey equipped W210. The system is a bit different from all of the newer models in that it uses DAS2 instead of DAS3 and from an implementation standpoint it actually requires a different approach to properly bypass the security. The actual installation on these models will use an off-the-shelf remote starter or alarm/starter combo unit (like a compustar or viper system) and will then use our DAS2 bypass module which will handle the key security encryption over the data network. This will *not* require an additional key to be present as the bypass module will emulate a working smartkey. Additionally it should be noted that the W210/W202/W208 platforms are either not fully networked or use a non-standard network system so the actual installation of the remote starter will not be plug-and play (e.g. it will require soldering wires at various points of the vehicle like most other non-mercedes starter installations. Still its going to be a very cool product and will allow all the older MB owners to finally get their cars warmed up in the freezing winter... Typical retail price for the entire system installed (starter, bypass module, installation) will be around $499.
As always give us a call or email if you have any questions....

Euro Cars Only
I gave MidCityE a call a few weeks ago and I was so disappointed to hear that all W209 can have this installed except for first year productions meaning all 2003 owners have to wait!!
ANY NEWS??
My CLK55 is anxious for this options.

I quickly checked out Python and Cartronics but none of their products are anywhere as clean as MidCityE. I don't want extra gadgets hanging from my keychain. MidCityE is the only one out there offering something as innovative as the Mercedes key fob remote starter.

basically the holdup has to do with the method which has to be used to deal with the key encryption... there are some legal/patent issues which we need to make sure we are protected on before we can go through with the official release and unfortunately legal research takes alot of time...
but fear not... we are working dilligently

python only supports alarm functions... there is *no* remote starter available for any smartkey equipped mercedes benz besides our smartkey starter product.
some of the early mercedes with the switchblade key can be done using a standard remote start product (like the W163: 1999-2005 ML) but it requires that you provide a key that gets mounted under the dashboard in a box to allow remote starting... the problem is that a thief can break into the car and remove the key from the box and then use it to steal your car... Also the W163 vehicles in particular have this annoying problem where sometimes when you remote start the vehicle and then get in and turn the key to drive away, all programmed keys get erased on the spot.. a number of unlucky W163 owners have had this happen and had to pay $500 for new keys.. (This is why we decided to design a new system for the W163 vehicles that does not have this problem and also does not even need the additional key under the dash).

Cartronics DOES use the Mercedes key fob as the starter... Not sure what you were looking at! I know, I have one!

Technicar in FL has remote start kits for w204. Search youtube for their videos. I was quoted $795 for the keyfob start and around $1300 for keyfob and phone start. I want RS but Im not paying that kinda $$, Im not that lazy.......yet![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
FWIW, Technicar has also done the retrofitting of the 2011 LED DRL for the w204 on 08-10 years with no errors and uses oem equipment.
Im not affiliated with them in any way Im just given everyone my research info.
If MidCity's RS for the w204's is cheaper than $795 then Im going that route!

Does everyone know that the only working (LOL Rob) MB Remote Starts all come from Mid City? can we emphasize all so there is no mistake? cartronics = Midcity... technicar = midcity... Arctic, Midcity I think sells them for $795 also.. so it is a moot point where you buy it...
