W209 Comand Retrofit: Where Does the GPS Antenna Go???
I have an '07 CLK (W209) Cabriolet. Replacing the Audio 20 with a Comand but not sure where to put the antenna. Anyone know where it is on a factory install?

Factory spot is in the trunk lid.. but you dont have to run it there. Every time ive upgraded
the clk/c class to command i use a after market navi antenna and hid it under the dash ( above the ic) is a good place or you can put it in the rain sensor location under the glass..

Thanks. I know the Sirius antenna is in the trunk, but I didn't realize the GPS antenna is installed there too. I found a good write up on www.mercupgrades.com that showed the antenna placement in a C-Class above the IC like you suggest, but I was hoping for another solution since I don't have to remove the air vents in order to install the headend like you do in a C-Class (I figure the less I have to dismantle the better).

behind cd changer
i picked up one for $15 on ebay.uk
small magnetic dude which fits perfectly behind the left rear portion of the cd changer.

I found another post that says the antenna is placed in the dash above the instrument cluster when dealer retrofits a Comand in a W209. I ordered the special pulling hooks (part #W140 589 0233 00) to remove the ic.
