Who has LASER jammer experience?
I currently have a BelGX65 so I could take on the Escort that works with that (the ZR4 shifter) or get another brand.
Thoughts on effectiveness, quality of product, difficulty of installation and is there really a need for a rear sensor?
Its hard to get any truly accurate info since all the sites are run by guys pushing product. It seems like laser is about 85% of the show in this town, and if you are tagged going 25 mph over the limit you lose your car for 48 hrs.
THanks in advance!
Also, I have an aquaintence who did the Bull Run this year, no Laser tickets, just vascar (plane) and 2 radar... unlike the Lambo's who had the marketing koolaid and ended up in jail... I think all of them...
I was on 285 one time in moderate traffic but saw the cop ahead before i was being monitored. I slowed down and when i got closer he lasered me and the shifting function worked great. i pressed the button and let it lock to get a reading. I'm a fan!

I will eventually install the rear sensor (but really just to show for demo purposes). Rear laser is harder for police to organize, as they really need a full trap set up with police ahead to pull you over, if they try to shoot from an overpass, etc. I have run a V1 and 9500ix for 4 years since they started using laser as the primary method of speed detection here in Atlanta and have yet to be hit from behind. So far, clients and enthusiast friends in various parts of US have reported similar findings - but I would not profess to know what is happening everywhere laser is used.
My .02, but I know this is a volitile topic for some, as there are some serious brand loyalists. I just don't want a ticket - I don't care what brand.

Basically it is made by the same company that makes the LI system and the heads for Laser Star. We joined a consortium of companies last year to get it done, since LI had a stranglehold on the North American market and was just priced too high for what it is. So we came up with a work around for the manufacturer to allow us (and 4 other distributors) to get the same equipment in for less.

Ha.. the Lambo's that got busted in the Bull Run had the LI... junk!!!
BTW, my best friend was in the Bullrun in a Merci with 9500, Scanner, and LI and did not get any tickets in 2009. He had to sit out 2010 and will be doing America's Run in November.
Not my data, but the data of several others.
I was referencing this years Bull Run, not 09'
Sorry, I will call BS on the LI system, especially when I have clientele that have the system, which I replaced, or who too embarrassed to come to me and had it replaced elsewhere... and I hear from one of my friends, their family members, or their friends... it is all internet marketing... that is just like the snowball rolling down the hill... getting bigger and bigger by people who get fed the koolaid. Sorry, real world driving and use dictates real world results. The K40 and Escort system are very good.
Although our findings vary slightly from GOL, I can tell you the LI is a VERY hard system to beat. While they claim JTG, I have not seen a single system that will actually jam to the gun. I can get punch through at around 60 - 120 feet. But in the real world, that is good enough. If you can't spot the officer when you are 100 feet away from him and have not heard the warning blast by that time, you need to have your license revoked and killed on the spot to be removed from the gene pool.
However, I can also tell you I can reliably get punch through on the K40 at around 800-900 feet on every test we have ever done with the Stalker gun in particular. As a club, we prefer not to wait around for anecdotal evidence from clients, but to actually test the system. Your customers may not have complained, or laser may not be as widely used as it is here.... but here, laser is 80% of the time and radar 20%. I can not in good conscience recommend a K40 to any client. I can personally beat it easily, and I am not a cop that does it for a living.
BTW, I have a lot to disagree with the GOL. So I am not one of the cronies. I find fault with several things they do, and way they disguise tests as promotions. We don't promote any particular system. We will install any system a customer brings in. We offer couple of them for sale, and the most popular comes in at the middle (Escort 9500).
So we or I gain nothing by what we test and what we do, it is just something that is a bit of a hobby for me (as an employee of my company) and about a dozen friends that drive too fast.
I mean no disrespect to you at all, but you should really get a gun (I would be happy to lend mine to you) and test for yourself... I think you will have the same conclusion.
