Anyone done an MB TV tunner in W463?

.........Wow! you are a difficult guy to reach, so I appreciate the prompty response. I will pick up my G55 on friday and I want to have installed an MB TV tunner and have it activated. Where are you now and when are you going to be on the east coast for Comand instals? My preference will be to swap my comand and instal a Euro Comand with a Tv button, then the Tv tunner. I have done Comand instals before but the guy electronic guy that helps me is indisposed.

I have no idea when I will be at the US eastcoast again...probably not before spring.
you can keep your US comand and get the blank Tv button (which might say SAT) activated by Mb after which a TV tuner can be added and operated (with a german TV menu though).

............If I choose to buy a Euro Comand, is it the same Comand as in the W209 CLK and the new SL500? If so or if not, do you have any in stock to sell. I know I can purchase from German ebay, but I'm not sure if the Comands are the same.

The SL500 (R230) COMAND is completely different, not even the same shape, so no point in addressing that.
And yes, he does have a Euro W463 unit in stock!

..........i just saw this on german ebay. The seller claims it will fit W463, W203 and W209 but not R230. From what you are saying, his information is incorrect. Although I am tempted because the auction ends in a few hours, I'll rather listen to you and buy from Steve.

...........Ok. I want to order from steve. But how do I go about it? How do I know the price of the W463 Comand and what form of payement does he accept? Do you have a way to reach him?

Ted, I already replied one of your emails and will reply other emails as well...currently I have regular internet access again and am trying to work my way through my mailbox.

The 463 works in the 203 and 209 BUT it needs additional work (which german ebay sellers never seem to mention) and will make the install take a lot longer...the 203 comand (the 209 uses a 203 partnumbered comand) will not work in the 463.
230 comands have a different shap and different software (no fader for example)...but most of this was already covered by Scorchie's replies.

Where is the TV Tuner in the W463?
I have a European spec 2004 G55 with the TV tuner and I'm wondering where it is located. I'm trying to use the AUX inputs and, if I remember correctly, the TV tuner module itself is not always located next to the COMAND module. Anyone have any info?
