you should be able to install an aftermarket deck with a installation kit (made out of black abs plastic), a wiring harness, and an antenna adaptor. You will be able to keep your bose system.

As pointed out in this post, you could certainly install an aftermarket deck using those parts. Unfortunately, you won't get any sound out of it because the Bose system is connected to the headunit on the same fibre optic connection that the CD changer uses.

you will have to run wires to the rear right of the trunk where all the speaker wires are present attached to teh bose AMP. The head unit is connected to teh bose amp via Fiber Optics only and no analog signals go there. The bose amp to speakers is normal wires

Hello,

I know it has been a while since anyone has responded to this page, but I'm in the dark so here goes...

I have recently gotten my hands on an original MB Bose amplifier that's come off a W203 coupe, and an original MB Bose subwoofer that's also come of a W203 coupe.
My completely stock 2003 C230 K Coupe has the non-Bose factory sound, no navigation, with 6-disc CD changer, and for what it's worth, the bluetooth prewiring in the armrest.

Anyone know if my car prewired for the Bose Amplifier and Bose Subwoofer?

Thank you,

Ryan

a lot of rewiring for a subpar system... if only 15 years ago I knew that all the pieces I was upgrading and tossing in the trash would be worth something today... i'd have more retirement money. I guess what I am trying to say in a nice way is why bother with some antique outdated equipment that was subpar to begin with? a nice alpine pdx9 or audison sr5 amp and some speakers with a sub would be a huge improvement.

I was randomly on ebay and found the sub and amp (separately, both from high-feedback sellers) for less than 80 dollars for both. I feel that the car sounds fine now and I hope to have it sound better with this, but if theres a lot of rewiring then I'll just give up for now... I was hoping that there is just a harness I could buy and plug and play... That isn't the case for sure?

no harness. add the sub, then add an aftermarket amp. I wouldnt give up just because it isnt OEM, there is so many good aftermarket companies and shops out there that can have it sounding so much better

That sounds like a plan! Add the sub and then add an aftermarket amp! -Ok, so how do I add the sub? -is there a harness or pre-wiring for the sub?

Also, should I wait to install the sub when I have an amp ready to be installed? As in, if I install the sub and not install an amp, will that be damaging to my system?

Thank you!!

My car is a 2003, so it doesn't use that. I will however give them a call to see if they have anything for me! So, thank you anyway!
