Post Dealer Says MB Financial is Dropping Rates

As per the "stealer" Merc is dropping rates as of July 15th due to the bad reception of the new rates. This has been confirmed by a second dealership...

Tarry, perhaps you too can confirm this... Thanks in advance

New Rates

Apparently, there is "trunk money" available. Apparently, that allows dealers to discount the cars and not suffer financial losses. I received a mailer and an e-mail announcing this today.

It may be limited to certain dealers in a particular market.

This is on 2007 vehicles only.

Is this the $5k for 550's and the $3k for 350's that have been available since the 4th or 5th of July? If not, can you share the particulars?

2007 SLK280 and 2008 SLK280

36mo/15k

Thanks in advance....

BTW.....I was told MBUSA only changed rates for one or two moels....the SLK retained the same (awful) residual and MF from the initial July rates...

Unless I can get back to the same ballpark as June rates were, I'll probably end up in a Z4 as BMW's rates are infinitely better this month...

I'll look at trading that car in for an SLK down the road a bit....but BMW's 63% residual and .00125MF were infinitely more attractive than MB's pathetic 57% residual and .00375MF!

Note: The SLK280 is the "right" car......but the Z4 is certainly the better "right-now" car...

Lease Rates for 2008 R Class 350 RWD

Tarry at LeaseCompare,

Any info on the residuals and MF on a 2008 R Class 350 RWD? mbusa.com posted the MSRP yesterday on its website. Prior releases in May indicated that the MB was going to lower the prices on theses cars. In quickly comparing comparably equiped cars, it appears that the prices actually went up.

Thanks for any info.

Nice Job. The lease rate that you got on the Z4 is about 3% vs. the lease rate on the MB which is about 9%. Simple math.

When I leased my E350 in the spring, MB had great lease rates (close to 3%) and a "lease forward" program. Basically, they "ate" may last 3 months payments. I feel good about that deal, as you do about the Z4.

BTW how do you like the Z4?

I've heard about this before from someone else.
How often do they do this or is this a deal specific thing?

Thanks Chaiman....

The Z4 is a great car....although the SLK was phenomenal....

Overall, I can definitely "get by" with the Z4 for awhile....although I wish it had the retractable hardtop lihe the SLK...

I had heard of this program before, but was usually not in the market at the time. I think that they run this sort of promotion once or possibly twice per year, I would venture a guess that they do this to clear old and/or high inventory.

I did this deal with no money down and gave the "old" E320. I did hate to give up the heated and A/C seats. But the E350 is so much more responsive and the sport package is awesome. We got the P2 and 4Matic as well.

Schweet....
