Winter tires for RWD C350 coupe

Is it better to use staggered set for winter or I should change to same size for all 4? I am planning to order Blizzak LM-60 since only available in tirerack for C350 coupe staggered but not sure about these details. Should NYC area driving be fine with staggered/performance winter tires? Original Continentals for sure scary for winter, they are spinning even in 36F on dry roads. I am also impressed with other Blizzaks models but never own LM-60, any MB owners opinion on LM-60?

I ran a square set up on my C300 Sprt last winter. 225/45/17 Pirelli Snow Carvers. The 225's just barely stretched on he rear 8.5". Wish I had 7.5" all the way around.

Is this model staggered/rwd initially?

Just put the same sized tires as stocks. Why would you ever undersize? Pirellis are so-so. Try the Michelin X-Ice or Toyo's.

If you plan to buy new wheels for winter, I would suggest the non-staggered configuration for the simple reason that you can rotate the tires. If no new wheels, you are pretty much stuck with the staggered tires.

As for tires, +1 for Toyo. I bought Toyo Garet KX last year and I was very impressed. They are much better than Pirelli Snowsport 210 that I previously used.

Narrow tires for winter are suggested by many sources, staggered setup also not perfect for winter but OK. I probably will leave staggered since I don't like to replace rims or stretch same size on them.
I like Blizzaks, drove them on any of my cars before and now, they are proven to be best. I am driving to Quebec and Toronto almost every winter and Blizzaks are one you would never substitute to anything there I also drove Pirelli and Michelins and no Blizzaks are better in snow and Ice. Pirelli 210 makes tons of noise if over 50% used, Michelins are overpriced.

Have you tried Dunlop winter sport or Nokian?

I heard Nokian are very good but I can't see anyone selling them here in US. Dunlop, don't know. Got Blizzaks LM-60 today, will install soon

A couple of websites have them. Also you can look up dealers on their site I think.

Does anyone know if the 16" tires/rims from a C250 Sedan will fit? I've historically gone down a size for winter tires/rims but haven't seen anyone mention if they will fit. I've looked at Tirerack.com and noticed they don't list a 16" tire/rim package.

I got used 17 inch from C300 2009 in good conditions for $400 set. Looks bit uglier than my AMG's but for winter set it is fine
