Bags are the way to go. I use to only stick with spring/strut and coil overs. But to get the look and performance that I am looking for, bags are the way to go. With the proper setup and management, air suspension is pretty reliable and fun

small update

Everything up until now was on point. But racing seats in a C350? C'mon...

To each their own. Some people like the racing seats look. And I'd bet they are more comfortable than the regular stock seats. Not saying that I have problems with the stock ones but I hear a lot of people complain about sitting in them for too long

Hope to see this project when I come drop off my car in a couple of weeks. Think it looks great.

Im not knocking racing seats I <3 them specially Bride GIAS seats which these look like, but in this build, a bagged c350 that is more stance oriented than performance .... they just don't fit.

oh and as for comfort stock coupe seats > BRIDE seats. driving long distances in those seats kill your *** (speaking from experience)

Bride seats are made for show anyways or should I say, most people use them for show anyways. I mean all the ricer hellaflush civics with 195 tires stretched on x9.5 wheels have them and Takata seat belts and I'm sure they aren't built for performance no matter how much they think their "lower center of gravity" helps with cornering

thanks for proving my point. and yes..... BRIDE seats are built for show and im sure recaro, sparco, buddy club, ect. all build there race certified seats amd frames for show...

like i said im not knocking these seats there my favorite seats, but If i was building a STANCE car on air and wanted to incorporate JDM flavor I would have went VIP since this car is basically falling into the VIP category

I meant most people that buy them use them for show. I've seen them on show cars more than cars that are actually tracked.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments. Now let me set the record here. This is a show car. Not a trailer queen show car (street driven) and certainly not a track car. The C350 is way too under power especially with an automatic transmission to be a track car. Seats, harnesses, brakes, suspension can all certainly be used on a track but it's not going to be in this case.

Mercedes has always been stuck in the VIP category and I want to change that. How many Bimmers you see running race oriented items on their show cars? Why are BMW's allowed to roam around outside of the VIP category? This a Stance'd out sports coupe, with 16 inch rotors with FIA approved Bride seats. I don't want to follow what others are doing

Bride/recaro/sparco has their line of "show" seats, but they also have their section of FIA approved seats. This is a Bride ZetaIII which is FIA approved so if I did wanted to track it, I would feel completely safe and especially when driving on the streets

Never meant to state that you didn't like the seats. Never my intentions. People will like what they like. I'm always for "qto each their own".

Props for trying something new. I don't like stance but I've always wanted to see MBZ with race items.

And I know you don't really care but racing seats aren't actually safe for the streets. They are ment to be used with a roll bar and have no roll over and rear ending support.

Awesome choice in wheels. This is also a great example of why people should lower their car, especially for those who are skeptical about it. Can never go wrong with HRE!

Small update

Brakes, interior, trunk are all done.
Not many more pictures are available until after SEMA.
Waiting right now for the exterior to be wrapped and it will be loaded on a trailer to SEMA

Sorry guys, no pictures of the car on HREs slammed.

Trunk setup
Airrex offers this option - a complete ready to install kit (you can also purchase everything individually)

Instead of going full custom we decided to use Airrex ready to install kit and put a little StanceLab into it. The kit is very versatile and can be used in many different configurations.

Can you imagine driving to work in those seats. The stock seats not only look great but they are comfortable.

I can and have driven in these seats. These seats are nice and comfy. Now if I was to compare seat features then definitely the stocks seats will win. Not everyone will agree with my mods and that is fine. I am the type to wear "sneakers with a tux" and do mods most don't do.

By the way, the stock seats sucks during long road trips. Ever tired sleeping in one?

Ricecooker, the build looks great.
Have You though about working on the fitment as to let the rear fenders sit between the rim and the tire? I know this would mean running a massievely stretched tire

Thanks, your estate looks awesome. The fitment is worked out where the face of the rim sits flush with the face of the quarter panel. The S63 wheels so happens to sit like this without any spacers or camber kits. When the pictures of it completed are taken, I hope you will like it. Let me know if you can hook me up with one of your spoiler...
