I found that the Canadian C models can do this if you leave your parking lights on during the day (the one directly to the left of Auto) and leave your front DLRs on. Only downside is that all the instrument panels light up as well but that's a small tradeoff.

It seems like your Canadian market vehicles have an extra button for the DRL's is that the case ??

In mine there's no button to leave your DRL's on when you put the main switch on the parking lights as you've said above...most markets only have the swicth for the rear fog lamp.

There's got to a techy who can come up with a way of getting this lighting arrangement happening for vehicles which don't have the extra switch for the front DRL's

Not really a "secret," but discovered today when getting in a very hot C350 parked in the sun all day that opening just the mesh headliner drops the apparent temperature in the car by about 10 degrees. Apparently a lot of heat gets soaked up by that black mesh.

Also discovered that when you pull or push the roof button far enough, there's a slight click and it becomes auto open or close. No click and you have to hold it until it opens or closes.

Hmmm, that's interesting AFAIK the mesh cover is supposed to act as a heat reflector to keep hot weather out, I suppose it's also retaining it inside the car when heat does build up in the interior, I'll try that next summer and see if it does get cooler when the headliner is drawn back
.

Good one

I'm still waiting on either a trick, hidden feature or any other way of having total control over the DRL's ie. being able to switch them on or off with any other combination of lights also on or off

If your brave enough to try it....there may be something in the Engineering Menu which can enable it. :P

"End Call" + "#" + "1" for 3 seconds.

HW Settings seems to be a logical place to start.

I see, have heard mention before of things you can do in that part of the cars software, but as you suggested it's dangerous because you can also mess up other things

Would be nice to be able to switch on the DRL's at the same time as the parking or C lights are on.

When I get some time I may try going into that engineering menu and without making any changes just have a look at what it all looks like for my own curiosity.

Actually I may even hassle someone at my MB dealers service department next time I have a chance to drop in

I'll tell you this though - the C lights are not even half has bright as the DRL's. I thought it was just me being picky but even my buddy confirmed that the DRL's are much brighter and can be seen from afar whereas the C lights are not noticeable until you're closer to the car. It's the equivalent of leaving your lights on during daytime....just doesn't stand out as much.

Oh ok. Thank you. I wish there was a way to only keep the DRL on, and not the headlamps.

I don't have multimedia package, does anyone know if we are able to enable the Sirus weather feature in the engineering mode? Thanks.

Activating anything on your Sirus radio can only be done by Sirus. But if you put your radio in shortwave mode you will pickup the weather from the closest airport from your cars location. If your driving a long distant you will pickup the weather report from the next closest airport. This is how pilots get their weather when flying.
This is a great radio feature in our cars if your driving in the USA.

What is HW setting? I don't see that in my menu. And by switching to shortwave, will I get a weather icon?

If you keep hitting the radio button you will see that it goes from FM to AM and WB. Stop at WB change the channel to maybe Channel 3 or 4 or 5 and you will hear the 24/7 weather report.
