C250 coupe spoiler lip or not?

Hi all,

As some if you know I have a C250 on order, we've been doing sone research into spoilers and are looking to confirm with our dealer sometime soon as to whether we want to add a boot spoiler lip or not.

I initially loved the way it looks however am starting to wonder whether it'll be something I would want on the car longer term/does it over complicate the look of the car. What are everyone else's thoughts on adding a boot spoiler lip (same paint colour, not carbon fibre)? Does it spoil the look?

Cheers.

No, it doesn't spoil the car. In fact, it makes the car look a bit more aggressive. I have the lip, and i think the car looks better that way. I think you should get it :p

If you like your baby to look more aggressive, you should go with carbon fiber.

There was no carbon fibre option through the dealer and I wasn't sure if it would look a bit out of place on a C250. Even though we got the AMG pack I still think carbon fibre looks more fitting on a car with carbon rims/diffuser.
I've ordered the body colored spoiler through the dealer now and it will be fitted before delivery. Hope I don't regret it!

IMHO short answer go for it DL250 it will definitely look better with rather than without and my opinion on finish is colour coded vs carbon finish, if I had the choice as you now do but didn't before about a month ago with C250 orders in Australia I would've opted for the spoiler

However there's something you should keep in mind with this one and ie. the spoiler option for the C250's is a different one to the AMG C63 unit !

It has a wider and flatter profile/shape than the C63 one and comes only in ABS so it'll be colour coded, no option on CF with this one, I checked them out yesterday whilst taking delivery of my C250 CDI

I'm actually getting a C63 colour coded one for my C250

Thanks for the clarification AV1, I have been trying to figure out why it looks different in the photo I was provided vs what I had in mind. Do you know where I can go to take a look at them in person?
Are you getting the C63 one through your dealer?

By the way, I hope everything went smooth with the delivery yesterday and enjoy your new Easter treat.

Hello again DL250, appologies for the late response but I've been out and about enjoying my new coupe

Regarding the spoilers, just ask your MB dealer to show them to you, they should have C63's there so you can compare the new C250 sport option unit to those, if that dealer dosn't have any of the new C250 sport option units maybe ask them to put you onto another dealer who does

I am planning to get a C63 unit for my car, but my MB rep is still trying to source one at cost price for me because as you know I certainly don't want to be paying over 1k for it fingers crossed

As for the delivery of my C250 CDI last Wednesday, it all went perfectly, it was a totally fantastic experience !!!

The car was presented all covered up and I was able to peel away the cover being photographed every step of the way and then spent nearly the next 2 hours going over the features of the vehicle and socialising with just about everybody else there, very memorable experience, I'm awaiting for photos so that I can start up a new thread on the subject

Believe me your going to love yours as it's almost the same spec as mine, I've already covered more than 700km and still have 1/4 tank remaining in a combination of traffic, highway and spirited driving thus far.

I just returned from Arthurs seat in Dromana and the C250 CDI demolishes uphill twisty mountain climbs like nothing !!! it's a fantastic machine, the steering razor sharp, the handling impeccable, ride quality fantastic, power, torque and performance absolutely awesome and I havn't even engaged sport or manual gear mode yet either as I'm not maxing it right out just yet, can't wait to give it a full and proper burst

I'll let you know how I go with the spoiler when I next meet up with my rep in about 3 weeks time as he'd like to meet up and see how it's all going, it's all good being a part of the MB community

I had no idea they do all of that for delivery! The last time I went with family to pick up a brand new BMW they certainly didn't go to such lengths to spoil you - the entire process took under 30 minutes haha. Can't wait to see your photos!
Let me know how it goes with the spoiler too.
