C350 exhaust on a C250
Hi guys, I want to put on my C250 dual pipes on the back like on a C350. Anybody knows what exactly I need to buy in order to do that? Is it possible at all and will it be expensive? I see that all of you are adding the AMG 4 pipes exhaust but I think this is way too much for a 200hp car. Has anyone put a dual pipe exhaust?

I would love to buy a take-off c350 complete exhaust to bolt to my c250 and add the revised valance. I prefer to keep the oem look and balanced tips on each side without an aftermarket look.

I definitely also want to do something about the odd looking single outlet exhaust tip on my C250, but definitely do not want to go the way of a quad C63 set up as so many other people have done, plenty of parts available now for that both OEM and aftermarket but I don't want to mimmick a C63 and certainly don't want to use cheap aftermarket set ups as that looks even worse.
The OEM C350 set up seems to be a solution, if it's not of concern for a C250 to end up looking like a C350 from behind and it's also a very expensive one (ie. for anyboby in Australia) the rear mufflers and all other associated bits needed from either a C350 diesel or petrol will cost around $4kAUD. new, so far I've only located one S/H set from a C350 petrol which travelled 2,000km going for $2k.
The pipes from the C350 twin system rear mufflers need to be cut and modified with a connecting Y piece and you'll also need a heat shield on the opposite side to complete it all properly.
I'd prefer to go new but with that kind of outlay I'm also considering all the higher quality aftermarket options available, eg. Supersprint have a dual system for the C Class with a larger sized single oval outlet tip, I believe Meisterschaft have a similar offering.
I'm not at all worried about power output matching number of outlet tips, in my case I'm all about getting the right 'symmetrical' look so to that end I'm also looking at high quality quad aftermarket systems (eg. Brabus) which have a totally different look to the C63 or in this case any other model for that matter and it would be great to have the right unique look and not get mistaken for another MB model.
I'll be heading down to my local Brabus workshop sometime soon luckily located not too far from where I live to size up their quad system which has been specifically made for our MB's and see how it all works/looks, what revisions the AMG diffuser needs etc. and go from there, this system is actually designed to fit straight up on the non AMG kitted C Class and others but the OEM AMG diffusers need some modifying.

Hello, I am one such member that did the Quad Exhaust pipe modification. All you will need to do the modification is a (Right) muffler and exhaust tip, C350 diffuser and a Y-Pipe or a shop that can fab a Y-Pipe for you.
For ease of install and to keep costs down - you can do exactly what I did:
I dropped out the factory exhaust completely from the Cat-Back. I then installed a single magnapack (muffler) right after the Catalytic converter and then a Y-Pipe after that (as pictured)
Then you have two dedicated runs to the back of the car where you can weld on two OEM exhaust tips (one on each side). Then all you need is an the shop to tack on a universal exhaust hanger on the side where there was no exhaust tip previously. Done!
I simply went for the Quad Exhaust look because I figured, you're already doing the same work, and its something I've always wanted to do. I don't really aspire to trick people into thinking I have a C63. I haven't debadged my vehicle or anything - I just prefer the look and sound. Additionally, it sounds awesome when the diverter valve on the turbo dumps all that extra boost into the exhaust on WOT shifts out of the back of the exhaust.
FYI, here are two more shots of the install:

LOL that is so funny, photo chopped well
Correct you are that's why I havn't done anything yet, it sure is hard to justify the associated costs with all of this to do it properly

Nice piping, looks clean....thanks for the pics! I think I am going to print these photos and show my exhaust shop. Also, by looking at the above picture, our stock exhaust for this turbo setup looks too restrictive..wtf is that two inch piping? lmfao looks like a civic exhaust. smh
Time to hit up some of these c350 owners who converted to Quad exhaust tips and ask for their rear diffuser

They weren't mandrel bends, but I don't really care. I doubt having two 2.25" non-mandrel bent pipes coming from a 2.5" pipe will cause a bottleneck. If I had to do it over I probably would have just straight-piped the entire thing. I LOVE loud exhaust and had my C300 straight piped.
I was afraid to do that again though because the C300 was simply TOO loud, bad resonance on the highway; and I was unsure how a 4-cylinder would sound - didn't want it to sound too ricey. However, the turbo definitely quiets things down. I will try to get a video of a cold startup though, because this is a Direct Injection it is very loud and somewhat unpleasant until lifters settle and the engine is down to the normal 900ish RPM.

Haha, yeah its VERY dinky exhaust compared to what was on my 2009 C300... Also, I got a 2.5" inlet/outlet magnapack and a 2.5" inlet/2.25" dual outlet y-pipe since my exhaust tips were 2.25". However, any decent shop should be able to bridge a .25" gap...

I went ahead and had one of my friends who works at a collision shop order me the c350 diffuser and right muffler tip. Total was $200 for everything. The parts will be in at the end of this week or next week. The next thing is taking the stuff to my exhaust shop and see how to redo the piping. I will post pics of my conversion when I done.

here is a dual set up for a c250 coupe...

i don't like all of the clamps ... especially if they can be seen when looking at the underside of the car from behind.

I'd actually love just one muffler but with dual tips. Are there any valences out there that would accept dual tips on one side?

You could always install a twin tip set up of your choice that will fit into the OEM diffusor opening, AFAIK round tips up to 70mm diameter will fit without modification Remus make a rear twin round tip system to suit our cars, I've seen others fitted with Brabus systems which have had only 'minor' surgery done to the openings of the diffusor to get them to fit in

Also, I have called magnaflow and other muffler tip makers and 2" tips seem to not be a seller. If you guys can find some 2" stainless steel tips then it should work. You can also use regular 2" chrome tips but you risk the tips rusting in the future.
I ended up buying both c350 right right tip and diffuser. I will install when I get some free time.

I tried...Most exhaust tips come in at 2.5-3". The oval opening can only accomodate 2... 2" tips. Trust me, I went to my exhaust shop and tried every muffler/exhaust tip they had.

On the subject of cutting, I've seen some C350 C Class sedans and one E Class Coupe here in Australia fitted with the Brabus quad on the OEM AMG type diffusors and they needed to be cut only a little on the openings, the end result was very good, Brabus actually supply an opening adaptor for their quad tip systems but it is designed and made to suit the standard OEM diffusors only, the 'minor surgery' is required for the differently shaped AMG package diffusors.

All you need is just regular Quad tips, or just buy 4 individual and 2 y-pipe and then add them to your muffler.
This is what you want:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Ben...cb32b0&vxp=mtr
Alternatively, if they were available when I did my quad tip conversion, I would consider these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-E-E...a4999b&vxp=mtr
They are replica E63/C63 Black series tips, look really cool.

@jctevere: There is just one muffler. The muffler has 2 outputs. 1 goes into a AMG dual tip and the other one goes via the long pipe behind the bumper to the other side to the other AMG dual tip. It's a cheaper and easyer option to create a dual exhaust look with no space to put piping on the other side. But you can always see that one side is much dirtier then the other :-)
