Wheel/Tire Advice
Hello again,
You all have been a great help - I am finally (after a year or so of waffling) looking to upgrade my rims to 19s on my c250 coupe.
Here is my dilemma - square appears to be the most cost effective solution and the rims I'm purchasing are non staggered. My primary concern is how off my speedo/odo is going to be off going to be off.
I was thinking about going 245/30/19 all around which is about 0.5 mph fast in the rears and 1.5 fast the fronts. I'm not sure how that all averages out considering our cars have a staggered fitment.
Here is my question, I can't seem to see an aesthetic benefit from my c250's oem staggered set up. Considering our cars are not jets, is there any detriment in going from staggered to square? Will dynamics be off in my current set up? In addition, do the changes mess with MB's systems in anyway? In addition can one stagger the rear tires on squared wheels, and if so is it dangerous or negatively impactful to driving dynamics?
So to summarize the above questions:
Thank you again for all your help.
For reference sake I'm considering the following wheels:

Any opinions on which you find better?

So to summarize the above questions:
- 1. Since there is differing variance between the sizes of the fronts and backs when switching to 19s, how off is the speedo/odo truly going to be?
- 2. Any issues going from staggered to square? (Driving dynamics, warranty, handling, etc...)
- 3. Can one stagger tires on squared wheels (I am considering larger rears....almost only for the sole purpose of keeping the speedo/odo variation down some).
- 4. Any dangers of either going square or staggering tires on squared wheels?
Thank you again for all your help.

Without getting too involved with the speedo variancies with the alternative rim/tyre configuration your looking at, I'd be looking more closely at the rim specs compatibility your considering first.
The 2 styles you've listed are for Audis and the ET will not work with our C Class, (ideally you'd want to stick to no less than ET45) P.C.D is compatible but again because they're made for Audis you'll need hub locators to correct the centre bore sizing and these are known to cause vibration in aftermarket wheels, I've experienced it with many of my past cars - always much better to get 'hubcentric' rims.
Powerwheelspro have a big selection for MB vehicles, maybe go for one of those designs

I've verified with powerwheelspro they fit my c250.
To add, AV1, you experienced vibrations? The wheels are 19x8 with a 45 offset and a 66.6mm hub ring. They do have an option for a 35mm and an option to do 57.1mm (which I'm assuming is the Audi's hub ring and offset?) If I order the 19/8.5/45/66.6, that should be compatible with my car, correct? I really enjoy the 329 wheels as they appear to be close replicas of the BBS CH-Rs in design. I'm about to pull the trigger today, your opinion would be awesome!

I'm staggered with 19s. The fronts are 225/35-19 and the rears are 265/30-19. Minimal difference between the two and stock wheels however, the rears are a bit stretched (19x10) and the whole setup is just waiting to touch a curb (happened already on the front left). No other issues.

The above numbers (19/8.5/45/66.6) are compatible and will work

The o/a rotational dia. on those tyre sizes is almost exactly the same front and rear and within 2% variancy from OEM stock size, that's normally the max. allowable variance up or down to o/a tyre size to not put the odometer too far out of whack.
The above tyre sizes actually corrects the speed of the vehicle at 100km/h compared to the stock 18" wheels, I have a friend with a C Class sedan with the above tyre combination and the speed reads almost exactly 100km/h (62mph) when at that speed using a GPS device, whereas on the stock OEM 18's the speed read 96km/h on the GPS when the odometer is indicating 100km/h.

If you look at the stock OEM 18's at the rear they are 8.5" wide rims with a 255 tyre and the fitment is very snug with plenty of tyre wall to protect the rim outer edge, going to a 245 wide tyre on 8.5" wide rim should fit up nicely despite the reduced tyre wall height or low profile and certainly better than the 225 tyre on the OEM 8" wide front rim which is slightly stretched.
The 45 offset should be ok too, there are a few people here running those rim/tyre specs and all look and operate ok
