2010 E550 Sport Coupe vs. 2012 C350 Sport Coupe

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some opinions on the following comparison: 2010 E550 Sport Coupe vs. 2012 C350 Sport Coupe.

I am looking at these two as possibilities for my first car, so I don't want too much of an "old person" look. For this reason, I am comparing the sport coupe versions. They currently can both be found at relatively similar prices, so I would like to hear which you would choose and why. Acceleration of the C350 is about 5.8 seconds 0-60, while acceleration of the E550 is about 5.1 seconds 0-60. The faster the better, but I would undoubtedly sacrifice some speed for an overall more fitting car. I very much like the idea of having a 550 V-8, but I also like that the C350 would be a little newer and sportier.

Thanks!

c250 coupe .2012 e550 coupe
Go for the e coupe
It's a rear car
It's a luxury car
It's elegant
Great performance
4 Windows roll down
It's a head turner
The e coupe are special cars even Tho they are build on the c class platform

C Class are like Honda civi they are everywhere they are not special like the e coupe only if it's an c63 amg That's my opinion.

Wow! You must live in a nice area if you see as many Mercedes as Civics. That is usually a case of them standing out because you have one.
I like the E-Coupe but don't like the controls on the seats. Other than that- IF they have the Air-matic suspension (not sure if they do or not) I would avoid it at all costs. The only exception would be if you plan on switching the system for a set of coil-overs. I have heard too many issues with the Air-Matics failing. If you go with the E-Coupe- the E550 is definitely the right choice IMO. I know performance numbers are similar, but nothing compares to the V8.

I've been thinking that the E550 is a better option, one reason being that the C-Class is a very common car and therefore has a lot less prestige.

Get an e550 and don't look back! You Will not regret it! Apart from maybe new rear tires every couple of months!

If we will compare E350 and C350, 0-60 C would dust E. Also not sure about 5.8, it is closer to 5.6.
E class is very comfortable, heavy and plushy but not race car anyhow so 0-60 factor is not much related to this car. It is for people who would enjoy MB driving and quality. Comparing 8 cylinder to 6 is not fair, in this case C63 would be better.

The reason for this comparison is because the C63 was not available in 4-Matic. Living in a climate with winter snow, it is a necessity.

Just my opinion the 2012 C Coupe definitely looks better than a 2010 E Coupe.

Of course on this forum section that would be subjective as we're C Coupe owners

In my eyes the interior of a 2010 E Class definitely has that "old person" look and the LED DRL's look cheap and tacky, I actually thought they were an afterthought aftermarket add on by MB when I first saw them back in 2009...luckily MB has since used better styled DRL's on all their models.

However if you were comparing the new face lifted and updated E Coupe, then I'd definitely take one of those over the C Coupe, the way the front and rear have been re-styled and polished off especially the new high tech LED headlight assemblies, lower bumper and the nicely styled rear diffusor and exhaust tips and the upgraded interior definitely make the pre update E Class look very dated and IMHO better and more refined looking with more appeal than the current C Coupe.

Suppose it all comes down to what's more important to you and what you'd be happier to live with, good luck with the decision

There is always something better tuned with pipes etc, C63 black I believe is better than regular C63. This thread is initially comparing apples and oranges, because nothing in these two cars are made the same reason, e350 is sluggish/barge looking coupe in compare to c350 in my opinion. But with 8 cylinder - any of them is amazing, i wish they could have 6 turbo option as bimmer...
