What is best tire pressure for both handling and ride?

Roads where I live (North Carolina) are good but not great. So I find 34/35 psi all around a reasonable compromise. I'm using cold start up pressures. Would like to hear from others-particularly C250 drivers as our cars are a bit lighter than the C350. Tire wear is also important.

What is best for you? Let's hear it!

All depends on what wheel/tire sizes your running. On the staggered 17s, I am at 32 F, 36 R

Tire pressures

Only a week ago I raised front & rear pressures to 35 psi. Before that I tried what was on the gas filler flap--30 frt/rear. Ride good but obviously not so good handling. Have almost new 18" Conti DWS tires. Surprisingly there was very little change in the ride @ 35psi and noticeable improvement in handling. Have used this pressure before in my 2012 E350 Sport. Same results. Also good tire wear.

Temp yesterday in the mid 80's. Made a 50 mi. trip to the airport @ freeway speeds. Tires warmed up to 40 F. Very pleased with this setup. Have had 2 sets of Mandrus wheels on E350's. Great wheels.Perfect fit.

My C250 has the optional twin 5 spoke 18" AMG wheels, does that mean that the PSIs specified on the inside of my door correspond to the stock 17s and not 18s? What should I be running them at? I believe 36F 41R are specified and I'm currently 10% above that on both.

I have the OEM 7 spokes currently. Running 32F and 40R. Gas mileage also seems slightly better than before when I ran 32F 35R.

If your AMG wheels, that you describe, came with the car then pressure info is correct. Pls read ALL the info on your door. This is the maximum tire pressure--not the recommended pressure. Look @ the inside of your gas filler door for the RECOMMENDED tire pressure. I also have the 18" split AMG wheels & the recommended psi on the filler door is 30/30 which I feel is too low for my driving preferences. That's why I have 35 psi all around. See my previous posts.

2014 C250 sport (w/AMG 18" wheels) - I run 40-41 psi HOT...it's easier to let the wheel sensors tell me what's in them instead of me poking and prodding each tire. Pressure wise, I like it...best I can do is 30 mpg on highway extended trips doing about 78 mph, in town I get 22 because I drive like an idiot from stop light to stop light, handles fine although there is more understeer than I prefer...but I think that's more the car and not the tires or tire psi.

Yes sir, that's correct! It's just easier to read the info gauge than gauge each wheel. I made one adjustment months ago..it was 46 psi hot as delivered...too much IMO so I bled them down a bit and that's where they've been since.
