Black Ash Wood Trim Shortage???

I ordered my c class amg line coupe in UK in May.
Dealer call me saying there is a shortage of the black ash wood trim (standard on amg line). Saying this will delay order by 2 months from August to October, or I get the gloss trim.

Anyone heard the same?

Kind of funny to hear that...
In my order I had specced the brown version, but they pushed my delivery from august to october if I wanted it, due to shortages, so I went with black instead.

Smells like dealer BS... Perhaps they screwed up the order and now they're trying to offload the wrongly specced car to you! Sounds like an opportunity to negotiate!

These lead times seem to be excessive. When I was ordering back in May, I was quoted up to 2 months but likely sooner by 3 dealers. I actually only had to wait 2 weeks in the end because a dealer had a car on order that I think was going to be a demo.

Hate to hear that. I ordered the brown version also back at the end of June ans was told that the car should be ready by mid to late August. Hope there will be no delay as I already sold my second car and each day have to negotiate with my wife on who gets to use our only car and when.

I ordered my c coupe amg line in HK in May. Dealer said shortage of the black ash wood trim and says may be delay 2 months for production. They suggest choose piano wood trim i/o black ash. I insist use black ash becasue hate the finger print on piano wood. Finally got letter from dealer that production in Aug.

Don't get the piano black. It's terrible. Scratches up and you also get the lower end trim of the air vents that you don't normally see until you see it I person. They're black vs. silver/aluminum

We also switched to the Black Ash Wood trim for our order, as per kowyzg0moo's comments, the piano black will be a nightmare to keep looking good, plus on the C43 you get the clock included with the Black Ash Wood trim.

Hey man, long time lurker here lol. I placed an order for a c43 yesterday through my dealer in Canada, and heard the same thing today. However, he said the delay time is unknown I don't think it's dealer BS if multiple dealers are saying the same thing. I would wait it out for the pore wood, it's the best trim option IMO.

+1 for Black Ash wood, it looks amazing and more luxury/upscale IMO and it's less prone to scratches/fingerprints compared to Piano black.

Black Ash if you want to go luxury, carbon fiber if you're looking to maximize the sportiness (best for for an AMG variant, IMO). Just my $0.02.

So I spoke to my sales guy today about ordering my c43. He couldn't even put the order through because the option for the wood trim is "blocked". I asked him if it could be due to wood shortages, and he didn't think so because you can choose the wood trim on other models. It's only blocked for the c43.. Wtf?

Are you ordering the coupe though? Do you guys think I should get the sedan instead? Or should I just hold off until the ash wood becomes available for the coupe? I was told it'll probably be another 2-3 months to place the order, and then another 6 weeks for it to be delivered.

If you place a custom order, your build won't occur until 2-3 months after that (because the other allocations will be locked). Then add your delivery time.

Ah, I see. I must have mixed up my sales guy's words. So I'm potentially looking at another 5-6 months for the coupe :/ I don't know what to do.
