Burning Smell After Driving C-class (W205)

I have a 2022 C-300 coupe (AMG line) that I bought used. It is a beautiful car, but even after a short trip, there is a strong burning smell that I would describe as a metallic burning smell. I have been a "car guy" for more than 50 years, so I can usually differentiate a burning smell coming from an automobile. This one I would normally describe as smelling like a transmission problem. There is nothing touching the exhaust manifold and this is not like a burning plastic smell. I mentioned it to the service writer (who had been a former MB tech) when I had my B-service, and then took it back in a couple of weeks later to have them check the trans (was the shifting normal) and I also mentioned the burning smell again. He claims that it is just coming from the turbo, but I have owned other turbocharged cars and never had a metallic burning smell from any of them. This is really bothering me and keeping me from driving the car on any long trips. I have had to pass on visiting my son's college, which is a 3-hour drive just because I don't trust that this is an example of where there's smoke; there's fire. After paying nearly a thousand dollars for B-service, when I went back in, I wanted to have a standard transmission service to be certain of the trans fluid level, but they wanted another thousand dollars for that. I ended up paying about $400 for the return visit as it stood. Right now, as much as I like this car, it is largely useless because I can't feel safe taking it on any lengthy trip. Any similar experiences or any experience with this kind of burning smell in this model? Your thoughts may put my mind at ease. (or lead me to the right repair)

Thank you for the reply.......although that guy has a W206, I will have to take a close look at my heat shields. I had already done some investigating in that area, but I will look again.

I just happened to buy a new bright LED work light today, so I took a close look.......at least what I could see under the hood, since there are several heat shields........my car only has 17,000 miles and was a California car and now an Arizona car, so the engine bay is very clean. Could not make out any burning/burnt areas on any of the heat shields seen from the top. Not sure if the guy with the W206 was referring to a heat shield underneath.........I'll have to check when I get the chance.

To be fair, the W206 is different to the W205 after all, I don't hear about a burning smell from the engine hood often, other than fuel smell.
