I ordered one too. It doesnt look that hard to install. I would have to think there there should be some HP gain. On a forced induction car I would think the faster you can get air in the better.

So you both bought that kit off ebay huh?.. well take some pics when you get it and of it installed too.. Im interested to see what it looks like and you'll have to let us know how it sounds!!
Im have almost completed my intake for my M111 powered W202... just have to pick up a couple more items and installation should be this week sometime.

your kit is very basic but Im sure effective... I have gone that exra step and replaced the whole intake from the airbox to the back of the supercharger... all aluminium pipe all the way back.. with my K&N filter mounted behind the bumper..
thants something you should think of.. making some sort of heatshield for the air filter since its directly in the engine bay.

keep us posted..

I plan to extend the tubing and put the cone filter in the bumper

maybe extend also the bypass valve cone filter to get in the bumper, because I think the engine thates his air from there when SC is not spinning.

I placed a sound clip on benzworld of a M111 R170 with a custom intake and it sounds really loud... and the bypass was purged in the intake, so I bet this one will be loud.

Anything for the V6 motor out there? I was thinking about a dual one like the C43 (and S55) has. Imagine that feeding 2 K/Ns!

wow, that looks good

What is the tube between the two pipes? And why are the very small cone filters?

Thanks alot you guys the tube that splits the single intake into two is actually a rubber plumbing connector that has been cut down...you can find it at your local hardware store just make sure you get the rubber and not the PVC (obviously) as far as the small cones go, they are called "breathers" they help distribute the air that is being drawn in from the two intake tubes so your not only drawing air from the bottom main cones but also from the top of the engine through the breathers...As far as Ashkans question goes i'm not sure how much hp i gained exactly but my car does do better when i hit high rpm's before the car would hesitate when you would be in 3rd @ 6,000rpm it would shut down but now i can hit 6,500rpm and not have the car cut the gas out, it also runs much cooler than normal...before it would stay at 80-83*C but now it runs 76-80*C...and it sounds alot louder than stock too! expirament and have fun thats how i got my ideas...i'll keep posting...right now im trying to find out if i can fit 2001 SL500 projectors on our W202's i'll keep ya posted...and if you have any ideas please share!!

Oh yea! and i still have the ram air tube you see in the first picture...it is connected to the cone on the left in the top pic and it runs down to the right vent in the bottom of the bumper...kinda gives it a "forced induction" i still cant find a place to run a second tube to the second cone without hitting the belt drive

I had an intake like that on my 320 clk for about 4 years so far, I made it out of a honda accord one. It just makes the car alot more louder, and I like it. I have had no maf problems, but i also dont over oil my filters. I dont believe it adds much hp but it sounds great.

On the compressor engine, I used to have a c230k coupe, you will need to do something about the bypass valve. Air gets sucked in and exhausted through there depending on throttle input. It sounds like a big electric drill

yes it is finally in the mail I have the tracking number. I was about to become mad at all this story.

It's for a setup where the bypass was connected on the intake tube, on an SLK230

Ok, well. I got the intake in the mail Saturday. The intake portion of it looks run of the mill (something you could buy from just about any speed shop local. The bit that mounts on to the bypass valve is a real work of art if it fits correctly. I have yet to have the time to grab up a friend of mine and accually install it. I can take pics if someone wants to host and post em.

i have one installed. its really loud. you dont get the intake sound that you get when u install intake on a regular car at all. it makes the supercharger whine pretty damn loud and it has that blow off valve wanna be sound when u let off the gas at high rpms. sounds pretty cool and intimidating.
