Aftermarket fog lights install in original w202 front bumper
I plan to install a a pair of aftermarket fog lights into the front lower opening (1 on each side) in the original w202 front bumper.
What brand and model number will fit these 2 openings in the front bumper? (PIAA or others... 55 watts)
I would like to use stock fog lights wire sets connect to the headlight assembly for the aftermarket ones. by extending the stock fog lights wire to the aftermarket fog lights, it will save a lot of time to re-wire and aviod installing a separate switch on dash board. This wiring method will use the current fuse/electric system, and also using the same stock rotary dial fog lights switch to control the aftermarket ones. Is it possible?
Will the aftermarket light in the opening block the air flow through the opening to the front disc brakes and effect the stoping power?
Lastly, how to installation done for the aftermarket lights? anyone has a pair aftermarket install before or currently?
need your advise! thanks!

If you install PIAAs, i don't think the stock connectors will fit with the foglights, but you can always just cut and splice the wires together. As long as you don't get foglights higher than 55 watts, then the stock harness should be fine.
Will it block airflow? probably not enough for you to notice...C36's and C43's both have foglights in that similar location (though they probably have brake ducts somewhere else). I don't think it will be a problem.
I personally don't have foglights in that location, but i've seen a couple cars that did...i'm pretty sure the PIAA 1400 and 1100 should fit. To install, just use the screws that come with the foglights and mount it to the bumper. Use the double sided tape as well. Buy a quality set of foglights (like PIAA)...they use a metal housing, and the overall quality is very good.

can i mount the PIAA 110 in the opening without drill or modification to the bumper? can i use the 3m tape only to affix to that location?

I don't know as i don't have those foglights anymore. If i find that one of my friends have one, i'll check it out. you should be able to just use tape, but i'd feel safer using screws...

old issue:
I found a pair of 97 C36 OEM fog lights, do they fit the opening of my OEM 97 C230 bumper, any special bracket needed to have them install properly?

This was actually discussed a while back at benzsport...the conclusion is that none of the factory foglights will fit (unless you do some customizing). Someone did find a set of Hella's advertised in a Taiwan issue of Car and Driver that seemed to be for the W202, but that's being researched at this time.

This is best I can get! If you go to Taiwan to get the fog lights, probably you should give this company a call first, not so many people buys this so they probably don't have any in stock, needs time to special order.

According to the ad from Power Bright Motorsports, this is OEM on European Spec W202. Maybe if anyone has connection/contact with any MB dealer in Europe, you can get more information (price, and part number)on this item from them.

SLK,
What? You won't drop everything you're doing to support your fellow C-classer's?? Treason!
If we can get the company on the phone, we may be able to arrange a batch order maybe??

SLK Boy
So far, we have 4 set in this group! (super, slk, matt, hubert). we should set a dealine to stop taking order, and use this volume as the purchasing power to negotiate the price and/or shipping option with seller.

I have a friend who wroks in Taiwan, I have already sent him an email to go to the shop personally to find out the details of this W202 OEM fog lights (price, and the quantity they have in stock).
I believe if we get the set, we probably will be the only ones who have this OEM items installed on the W202.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I don't want to put this all on SLK, he's stated he isn't going to be there that long and I'm certain his visit isn't for fog lights.
I suggested a batch buy and I did mean to the States. I think we should be able to do that a lot easier. Let's also wait and see what the people and Benzsport are able to find out.
I agree though, if enough people show intrest we should be able to negogiate a better deal.

If we get a group buy going, i'm sure a bunch of people on benzsport will go for it (i would say over 50% of the people on that site drive W202's). From the pic it looks like it's for pre-facelift W202's. Actually, i won't be getting a set for my car as I have other plans.
But i don't mind helping you guys out if I can.
