95 C280 stutters and drives sluggish!!
Hey guys,
I got a 95 C280 and on and off for about a month now its been driving sluggish. When strating from a stop, itll stutter and move real sluggish before itll take off. One day my mother accidently mixed premium with 89 gas and it started doing that. I thought it was the feul injectors and I put in injector cleaner/treatment for the next 3-4 fill ups, and still the same promblemo. Some one told me it could be the spark plugs or wires. Im praying its not the transmission. Does anyone has an idea of what could be the problem? Thanks, Kris

Mass airflow sensor tests out OK? Or did you at least spray it down with MAF spray from CRC? Have you gone to Autozone and had them scan your car for codes for free?

For some reason the M104 with HFM fuel injection was notorious for carbon tracking on the spark plugs. It will give a running condition like you describe. Stuttering upon heavy load especially from a stop. The plugs aren't changed frequently enough and would push combustion gases past the ceramic/metal base and contaminate the boot. You will notice tell tale black streaks down the side of the ceramic that are heavy enough to feel with a fingernail.
Everyone should be using dielectric grease on their plug boots to help prevent this. I wouldn't look anywhere else until I visually checked the plugs. Also look for the brown staining around the base of the ceramic. Let us know what you find.
