Talking Finally 16" RIM upgraded !!

Finally got my 15" rim replaced with this 16" rim, it's a original MB Avantgarde for W203.

Well, it does cost me a bit, but it is NICE !! Mine is only a C180, so I don't need anything more than 16" at all !!

The car is already lowered plus I suspect my shock is not well (time to change !), the ride is not so well now and will be worse if lower further .

So no more lowering !!

Not really !

1. I thought the rule of upgrading the wheel and maintain similar performance is to keep the rim + tyre size same/similar to the stock specs.

2. I also compared with my bro's 18" Brabus + 225/40R18, the height of the rim + tyre are the same as my 16" + 205/55/R18

I think you meant 205/55/16 which is the right tire size but the car just doesn't really look like it is dropped that much. What size pads are you running?

I think I use the thickest pad. At the rear I use non-MB pad, which is even thicker coz' I want to make a slunting effect.

Shock is the original one (suspected defective already).

Spring I have 2 sets, one set original, one set sport, all inherited from my brother when I got the car from him.

BTW, I am using the sport spring now, but have requested the tyre shop fella to use a thicker pad to raise up the back to have the slunting effect.

I have to say the drive is not so good now as the shock is weak already. In 1-2 mth time I must get the shock changed.

It will be much better with sport shocks. You're lucky you got 2 months out of the factory shocks, I got 11 hours out of mine. What BRAND of springs do you have?

don't be surprised about the effects of the thickest spring pads. our c36 sits very high up (huge *** fender gaps) stock... in fact, it's taller than a stock w202 c280 with 17" amg rims only.

Wow, given only 11 hours , that was short !!

Well, mine is still "okay" in a way it neither produce noise nor oil leaked from the shock, but it gives a very "soft" feeling. The car shake quite badly after making say 90 degree turn.

Brand of the spring ?? I dunno, I only can tell you it is in red colour. Perhaps I go back and do a check again.
