Sun roof shade delaminating
The sun roof shade, in our 97 C280, has delaminated. The gray covering has separated from the shade, and has pulled out from the vents.
Any body know how to remove the shade and any hints on fixing this condition?

sun roof shade
I purchased one for mine last year sometime but not sure how to remove the old one. I think the headliner has to be dropped which sucks bad. I may take it to this upholstery shop locally to do it.

yes thats right and while they are at it have them change your rubber gasket , over time they loose the bounce then start to allow sound to come through and you loose your surround vacuum on the inner cabin which means you will hear everything you go past or goes past you
same goes with the door rubber seals. Kind regards.

Thanks man, this helped me out a lot. It wasn't as easy as the video showed but it did work. I almost hired someone to drop the headliner. You saved me $$.

lots of cars
It wouldn't come out because there are some tabs on the back of track on the panel that hold it. You need to open the sub roof up and move these tabs down, then close the sunroof and slide it all the way in, then you'll slide the panel out.
I've done it on my car a few times and covered it in suede.
