1994 C280 AC Problems...! Help...
Hi...
1994 C280 Engine 104xxx... Ac was not working for few months. Checked the system and found sight glass broken from receiver. Replaced receiver checked the system and charged. Now...when engine is cold AC blows cold from all vents, when engine is hot AC blows med cold from center vent and hot air from sides vents?! Im suspecting water heater valve stuck open or climate control unit failure?! Ant ideas...

Thanks man for your advice! I took old Duo valve out and apart. One of valves was stuck. Couldnt even take it out with pliers. New duo valve from MB dealership around $350, found used one on ebay for $55...it works just fine! AC back in business...thanks again!

Yahoo, glad to hear it.
You're next problem will be that you get cold air for about 2-3 minutes and then the compressor shuts off. Cycle repeats everytime you start the car.
If / When this happens, replace the Evaporator Temperature Sensor. Costs about $50. It is simple plug-and-play.

Sorry to boder you but seems like you know c280 subject very well... I have few more problems with that car...
1. Sunroof was working just fine few days ago, now is not. Doesnt move doesnt click. Checked all the fuses (the one in the trunk too) and everyth seems to be fine. Sunroof switch is ok. I know there should be a relay for sunroof but I dont know which one. Any ideas...?!
2. Engine temp. gauge in the cluster its not working. I have to hit the cluster from the top with my hand to make it work. Looks like its loosing connection somewhere...or...?!
3. Hard engine start when engine is cold and hot. I have to turn engine over around 10-15 times before it starts. That happens every single time... Looks like engine is getting to much fuel because it will shoot from exhaust pipe...No misfire!
I pulled code P0505 (Idle Control System Malfunction). Does this mean I have to replace whole throttle body...?! Any ideas...

No bother but I don't have any ready answers for these. Wish I was a trained MB tech!
1. Try to re-synch the windows and sunroof. Mine acts funny sometimes too;
2. ??
3. I would definitely start by addressing the P0505. Search this forum or Google P0505.

Procedure is:
1) turn ignition to ON, but do not start engine
2) open each window individually to full open
3) pop open sunroof (up, not in the retracted position)
4) close each window individually. When it is closed, hold button all the way down for 3 seconds
5) close sunroof
6) turn ignition to off
7) start engine.
8) check that each window will fully open / close with one push of the button. If not, redo the procedure. SUnroof should work properly too.
