how does one take off the steering wheel cover?

Question how does one take off the steering wheel cover?

does anyone know how to take off the cover of the airbag part??, it wont explode on me will it??

Unless, you really know what you're doing, I wouldn't touch it. To bo on the safe side I would disconnect the airbag function before doing anything like that.

Disconnecting the airbag is not enough... static electricity can set off the firing mechanism!

One can fashion a shorting plug out of an airbag harness by shorting the two connectors together. If you plug this into an airbag, it should be nearly impossible to set it off.

haha yeah but then u have no more airbag. if u short circuit it, bye bye airbag.
but really, does the plastic cover just pop out or is there any clips/etc??

You short circuit WHILE IT IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE CAR.

Else static electricity can set it off. When you purchase a new airbag it comes with an antistatic tape over the terminal(s).

if you look at the cover there, in the middle, there's a line going across the middle horizontally. This is where the cover splits in two and the airbag comes out the middle there...the two pieces of the cover don't go flying tho :p , i believe clips hold those in place.
