VW/Audi, it's called an "ISO" adapter.

hey, i bought this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3043153608
the prob is, on my stock stereo, i got one that looks like it'll fit in there but it is slightly smaller and one longer rectangular one.
so i got 2 connectors. the clips on the square one don't even line up with the aftermarket harness. maybe i'm just doing it wrong
i'll take a pic of the connectors tommrow

That's what I use, a Scosche.
Your stereo has three connectors, A, B and C. The A and B connector sometimes are connected together (like that Scosche adapter).
A = 8 pins
B = 8 pins
C = 10 pins
C is not use for an aftermarket stereo, because it carries either CD changer signals, or CANBUS signals.
