Question about buying C230k

I am getting ready to sell my Trans Am and am looking to get either a '99 or '00 230k or 280. I am wondering if there is a certain type I should look for in either one. I have heard to get the 230k. Also I am interested in either the silver with two tone interior or a black one with anything but tan interior. Also what size rims do ya'll recomend to bring the performance look out more?

I have the 280 and am looking for a 230K. There are a couple of other threads in this forum that have advice that solidified my desire for a 2000[check out Blackmercedes diatribe in https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=61794]. I hope we don't end up bidding against each other!

unless you're set on a sedan, you should check out the CLKs. they've lost a bit of value so you might be able to find a 98/99 CLK320 for the price of an 00 C230K. i was set on getting the same type of C230K you want but came across a guy selling a CLK for less and got that instead. plus they're faster

what about gas mileage? I'd take the 280 and get my wife an E class, but I drive 800 miles a week during some parts of the year. I'm concerned about fuel economy, oddly enough!

Fuel economy on the N/A 4 bangers are pretty good. Even the 230K w202 is good on fuel.

800 miles!?! Where do you drive man? I put on about 300-400 miles per week and fill up about once a week, sometimes a week and two days. But great gas mileage on the 4 bangers :p

To the original question of making it look good....

18 inch wheels with a suspension kit

Some people have 19 inch wheels but can no longer make u-turns.

I'm on the road most days, mostly in RI. It's great insofar as I make my own hours and always go where the traffic isn't. My right brain says to keep the Camry and drive it till it dies, but my left brain wants that MB status.

Im lucky if i get 300 miles.. im on avg about 250-260 miles a tank. After the SS resonator and Lorinser exhaust i put on, gas seems to burn alot faster.
