i've bought sets of tires for my C220 and our ML430 at www.discounttiredirect.com

pretty good, free shipping on most tires...atleast when i bought it. Pretty competitive prices with tirerack. the reason I went with these guys vs tirerack was because the prices were lower and had free shipping!

get 225/45/17 for the FRONT & 245/45/17 for the REARS- 45s for the comfort.

I have no preference on tires, just stay away from Bridgestone Pole Position S03... they are hecka LOUD. Who needs an exhaust when you can produce sounds like that from just the tires! And they're not cheap either!

Cheapest is BEST, cause if you lowered it, it'll wear out quick, like every 6-9 mo. If that's the case, get cheapass Khumos $77 each I think. Who cares, you'll replace them again in less than a year. IMO.

Good Luck!

I bought from Luke at TireRack

For the tires I wanted, the price was right, and his advice comes at no additional charge.

Even with free shipping, TireRack is a few dollars less expensive.

thanks, i was about to buy those kuhmo's for $72 a piece at tirerack.com. about $340 all together.

then i called a store called performance team, and they're selling "nankangs" hr rated for $350 out the door installed. and discount tires said they'll match the deal with their hancooks. never heard of nankangs or hancooks. any suggestions???

i have had good luck with both tirerack and discounttiredirect. I think it just depends on your brand preferences etc.

Nankang and Hankook are both low end performers with the Hankooks being a little better than Nankang. My next set of tires are Nankang NS-2. I actually got them on ebay about 6 months ago for $240 for a set of 4 225/40/18's. All I know is that they perform decent, are really good in the rain and last longer than Kumho. Kumho definately has an edge on performance though. I had a set of Michelin Pilot PS2s and those blow anything else away. Don't expect top performance out of a low end Chinese made tire. Just better value.
