coz he said the stiffer your shock, the less absorb power you get which kinda force your shock to work less...

and the softer it is, the more energy it absorb so it can do less work

anyway i guess what you saying is very true just like when i have lowering spring on my car and how it fuck up my shock
basic concept right, but shocks valving and seal wear from up and down travel. softer setting means longer travel because the valve opening is greater. longer travel means more wear and softer setting means the shocks ability to rebound the travel is less which can cause the shocks to bottom out if you went over bumps and dips.

you can set it softer, but you don't want to go all the way soft.

I would rate the Basics an 8/10 on comfort. BUT, that all depends on the roads and conditions you are faced with. Here in So Cal we have very little weather variations so our roads are very smooth to begin with.

if it does rub- you could probably fix it by rolling the fender lip.

check/ask is the suspension thread though. chances are there is someone with your same springs.

Nah, he's just trying to make sure people don't get bad information and put 245's just cuz you said it would work.

never heard of them. they are certainly cheap. i think i would steer clear though. there are only a few things i would skimp on- and suspension isn't one of them.

C230K SportCoupe
I did a search but couldn't get a proper answer for this. Would H&R springs part # 52732 work for an '05 C230 coupe? These are coming off a C32 AMG. The part # of H&Rs for the coupe on their website is 52792. Any info on fitment, lowering ability will be appreciated.

Thanks!

My rear shocks are totally gone and will have to be replaced... I want a comfortable ride, I don't care about cornering or firmness I just want really good dampening and a comfortable ride when I travel... simply put which shocks are the most comfortable?

BTW I have H&R sport springs..

Recently replaced my rear Koni sport shocks because they proved too soft (for my liking) to properly dampen the chassis and its H&R 52792-2 springs during spirited driving.

Went with the Bilstein sport F4-BE3-6881-H0 from Tire Rack.

They are not yet listed on Bilstein’s website as they have just been released recently, according to their rep. I’m very pleased with their performance. They’re an excellent value at just $86 each.

splinter,do you think that they would noticeably improve my handling? I have 19" Bremmas and H&R sport springs on my 05' 230k.

Unequivocally, yes. Because ride quality and feel is almost entirely subjective...ymmv.

Since you are local, you’re more than welcome to ride in mine to see if its setup will suit your purposes. I’m classified as being from the lunatic fringe with regards to chassis tuning, lol. Send a PM, if interested, and we’ll catch up.

I should just put up a sticky, "DO NOT LISTEN TO KIRA UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! HE DOESN'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT CARS AND IF YOU DO LISTEN TO HIM YOU WILL MOST LIKELY DAMAGE YOUR CAR."

Well, I can't say that's good advice, but if you truly believe that, it's your business. Considering the S-tech's are only springs and the PSS9 is a fully adjustable coilover set for ride height and dampening ability...I'd say your comparison is a 'bit off.

More importantly, I hope you're young cuz that girl in your avatar looks under age.
