WTF with my dealer

my car arrive at the long beach port on March 14th, and i still dont have it. Just called the dealer, again, and today they said its ready to ship, meaning cleared from customs. SO im like ok, maybe i can get it tonight. No they say, it still gonna take another 3-4 days. WTF, since when does it take 3-4 days to drive from carson to newport beach. Sh-it, i knw the 405 is the worlds biggest parking lot, but use the carpool lane or something.

this is getting so ****ing ridiculous. the car was ordered late NOVEMBEr,
its so close, yet so far... any advice as to what i can do

Relax....it's not a VW

I ordered my car May 5th 2001 and took delivery on Halloween 2001. After months of fuming about salesmonkey mistakes, general manager threats, MBUSA promises and Mad Cow disease (no leather in a Mercedes?!? - or were they just trying to pawn off the cloth?), I finally took delivery. Yes, it was worth the wait.

talk to dealer again, said according to the cpu it hasnt been put on a truck yet still, and theres nothing they can do, im like if it was an S class or a cl65 im sure we wouldnt be dealing with this.
****, we have bought 2 s classes from them too.
dealer said that once it does come, then they have to make sure everything is right , "detail it" ( i guess that means run it thru the crappy car wash) and all that will be another day,

Did they give you an estimated date to expect it to arrive at the dealership? If so, when was that? If they gave you a date of arrival (on lot) in February or January, then my friend, you have Now attained bargaining power!

If they did not give you an estimated DOA (on lot) then obviously you have a valid gripe. When I got my car, I ordered it in January and it arrived mid-March, but I always kept checking in every 2 weeks to get an estimate of arrival. The car came in 2 weeks after expected, so I had them throw in the Illuminated Door sills and they were more than happy to do so.

Once you see the car physically on the lot, you won't have the same frustration! Just take it as an opportunity to increase your virtue of "patience". It'll benefit you 2 fold.

"anticipation, Anticipation, it's keeping me
way-ay-ay-ay-ting...."
After calling nearly every dealer in Cali, I finally would up in Carlsbad, where they punched it up on the computer.

I waited 2 weeks for mine to get to shipped from the docks
to Carlsbad, then flew to SD and drove it back to the bay area....
It was the only new C230K with leather, Orion Blue, Sunroof, and C7 available in Cali at the time!!! And I got a grand off sticker, which no one else was willing to do.

I can understand your anger...happened to me when I ordered my A4...but the car will be worth the wait!

btw, the "detail" is usually from outside contractors doing the prep work and detailing of the car. Most dealers I know of around the Boston area at least hire detailing companies as they dealers here don't have a dedicated detailer. So there won't be swirls (at least hope not >.<) on the new car as you get from the normal dealer car wash

good luck on the wait

Shoot, I hope the same thing doesn't happen to me.

Caliber intecepted a car that was originally going to another dealer and I put a deposit on it early last week.

Supposedly the car arrived at Long Beach on Saturday. Called them yesterday and they said it just arrived. He says I may get it this weekend. I'm not quite convinced though.

I'm getting quite anxious too, because all this wait that I did, I could've gone to another dealer and I would be driving the car right now. But I chose Caliber because of its convinient location....sigh

VDUB: The spoiler is hot. Is that Granite Grey?

i hope its not my car they interecepted, LOL,

i think i actually live a lil closer to caliber but we got 2 previous S classes from FJ so we went back to our same salesguy, who now actually is in charge of Maybach sales or whatnot. maybe if my car was a maybach it would be here. Every time i call he keeps giving me this crap about how honored he is that we keep coming back to him and how much repect he has for my parents etc, ...sounds nice and stuff, but im geting sick of it, all a deceptive facade

LOL. Mine is Alabaster White. Those sales will feed you all kinds of BS just to get your business. Keep calling them. :v

Supposedly House of Imports has the exact car that I want on the lot. Argh.

I don't mind waiting a couple more days to bargain for freebies like illuminated door sills or free extended warranty! (errr, right... )

Note: Our babies are sleeping in the rain tonight.....

nice. where'd you get the c55 spoiler from? and how much?

good luck on the wait, if I were in your position, I'd be pretty anxious too. when I got my car, they said that it was still on the boat and that it should be in the port by monday and that I should get it on wednesday. Well, it didn't come on weds but actually friday. I guess carson to torrance isn't too far...

My dealer FINALLY gave me a delivery date. the 15th of April, after being waiting for months and months!!! They have informed me that I am getting the Parktronic System and Rain sensor for free. But from what I've heard that all C Class that are made after Feb 2005 comes with the Parktronic and Rain sensor as standard for Australia. So may be I didn't get anything for free at all!!
