Finally they gave me a 2005 C230k ss loaner.
so today I decide to take my car into service to fix stuffs that has been broken for quite some time. I was surprised that they actually have couple C230k ss available as loaner vehicle. They had few white ones and a red one. I picked the red one of course, and after about 100 miles behind the wheel here's my thought compare to my RENNtech springed C32 on ride/handling.
1. the C230k still has quite a bit of bodyroll compare to my car. I did a quick lane change to go around the same pot hole that I usually go around in my own car. On a few quick right hand turns the roll is very obvious, but the car stays on track.
2. the ride is a lot softer and there's also less impact harshness. the c230k is more comfortable to ride in.
3. brake feel is not as good on the 05 compare to the 03-04 i've drove. it's definitely mushier than my car. there's this empty feel when you first step on the brake, but it stops well.
4. steering feel, there's not much feed back compare to the C32's more aggressive setting, but it is pretty linear that it goes where you point.
conclusion: the c230k ss has that feel of it handles better mainly because it is lighter up front which makes the car seemingly more responsive when changing directions, but as for whether the suspension is better than the C32? that's a NO. If you stuff a 32 engine in the C230k ss right now, there's no way the ss suspension can handle the extra weight and power.
p.s. I don't know how you guys read the digital display of the new radio. Half the time because of the reflection I cannot read anything.

Nice. I recently test drove a 2005 C320 Sport and I came up disapointed as with the suspension considering it is the "Sport Model" It wasnt signicantly different than the previous sport packages. Sucks because the car LOOKS very sporty from the outside. Everything else was great, not much different than my car though.

Non-MB loaners...
Frank, what dealership do you go to? At the dealership I go to (Auto Stiegler - Encino, CA), they don't ever offer me a Benz loaner. It's always some crappy Corolla or something similar.

i had that problem at MBSD, i got a protoge and a Civic. i always get an MB loaner at Penske though. Penske Claremont is just a service center, and just opened a year ago. not many people go there, they go to the main one in West Covina. anyhow, they always have plenty of loaners to choose from. i cant wait to take mine in again for service. im hoping my SA hooks me up with a 2005 C-Class. he usually lets me choose what i want from the cars he has available.

For my Service B, which isn't for another 7k miles, I think I'll probably just ask ahead of time if it's possible to get a Benz loaner.

when i lived in San Diego, i took my car to Hoehn, in Carlsbad. They were really cool and had a great selection of loaners. i got a 2000 C280 once from them. i really enjoyed that car.

i went to HOI and they just started to have 2005 c230k sport sedans available as loaner. I saw 5-6 c230k loaner when I return the car today. The other choice is the 05 C240.
