EDIT: Is that plate even legal mounted down there?
I mean, in CA, don't they have that stupid law where the specify that the license plate has to be a certain distance above the ground?
Yup. It's above the legal height. Officer at CHP signed off, so they can't say crap...LOL.

But, after 6 fix-its between my MX6 and Benz, I'm tired of the hassle.

WLA at the tire place I have my alignment deal with. Goin' for Nitto Invo's since they just released 265/30R19 and none of us have tried them out on our car yet, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Not a bad deal at all and below any of the prices I found online.

Don't they eventually give / change it to an in-correctable fix-it?

I've heard something about that. ie: You've gotten the same ticket so many times it's like you're incorrigible, and they give you a fat ticket 5~10 times as much as the regular fee, and let you just have it permanently... un-fixed.

I think I read about it under Tint violations, but plates... iono

It depends. The amount of times I got the ticket it was over a 15-16 year period already (from when I was 16 to now), but if the violations happened 2 times a year, I'd think that it'd be something like that (e.g. fine increase, etc.)

I know that there is a fine increase for the ones you get at parking meters (if you just pay the fine) because the meter maids don't have authority to issue "fix-it" tickets.

Here are some pics of my new Nitto INVO tires. So far, they have MUCH better clearance than the Goodyear GSD3's. The reports/complaints about the sidewalls being "too soft" or "softer" than other competitive brands seem somewhat accurate, but not as bad as I anticipated and most definitely due to it being designed for better fender clearance. In fact, the handling seems right on par with what I experienced with the GSD3's. Cool thing is, they filled up the tires with Nitrogen, so I got green caps too...LOL...

Nontheless, I'll report back on my overall feel for the tires once I've had a little bit of time driving on them. So far, I've only put on about 50 miles and I like them a lot. As far as "look" is concerned, I've always liked the tread pattern of the Invo's since they were first released. Very unique. There is also less lip protection (which I'm not too concerned about) and they actually make my wheels look bigger (especially the rear lip).

Enjoy the pics.

Nitto is made by Toyo, so the Invo's will work just as well for your LM's, Frank. Nitto was made to sell as Toyo's "High Performance" line, under a different company name (basically, Marketing b.s...LOL).

Dig that tread design. How are they for noise? They appear like they would be a pretty quiet tire. They are asymmetrical correct?

Quieter than the Goodyear GS-D3's and those were already quiet to begin with.

They are asymmetrical and non-directional, which means I actually get to rotate from one side to another (obviously, I still wouldn't be able to rotate front to rear...LOL).

but also means you can't swap inner to outer. LOL so there's no point to rotate side to side.

We'll see. It's free to swap sides on my alignment anyway, so I'll still do it and hopefully it'll help the tires last a little longer.

lol...but that would make the tire's shoulder design on the inside. I thought they would have different compound on the inner and the shoulder of the tires.

Side to side rotation will even out the feathering of the outer tread blocks, that these cars tend to do on the front tires.

I'm running NITTO extreme NT555 because my alignment was apparently off on my rear and thus ate my T1R's in less than 6 months which I'm lucky I found out about when I did my brake install because it was only on the inside of my tires which I cant see otherwise!! No complaints so far, and don't really notice any difference in the ride compared to the t1r's...

The NT555's looks like there's a sacrifice in ride comfort, but overall a decent tire. Wet traction wasn't given great reviews, which is slightly important to me during the rainy season (especially in my area).

ride comfort is fine for me...I mean its the reear tires so I don't feel all too much of the tires as i would expect too in the front. and the wet traction good 3/4 on their website...

same ratings as yours actually...minus the quietness and comfort...but like i said I dont here any difference (although we are riding in a benz) and comfort isn't sacrificed as far as I can tell...but I do only have them on the rears not the fronts!

The NT555's are directional though, right?
