The History of Drexappeal's Ride (9/1/09 Post 1309 - Nitto INVO Tires Installed)
If it doesn't, maybe I'll try the NT555's next. Thing is, it looks like it has a thicker sidewall, so I'm wondering if I'll have slight clearance issues like I did with the GS-D3's from time to time.
Anyhow, there are some other members that have done quad fog setups that were not standard for the bumper they have, so they'd be a better source for information.
We took a pre-existing (PIAA) wiring harness that he had for some other foglights (and didn't use), wired those up directly to the battery. The harness had the wiring already wrapped, so it was easy to route the wires. For the primary fogs, we had to connect the harness wires to the parking lights (basically, this would automatically turn on my primary fogs when the headlights go on). Basically, the sidemarker wires acts as the trigger to turn on the primary foglights. We also put in quick connects, so that anytime I need to take off the bumper, it's easy to disconnect/connect the wiring.
The secondary fogs were easier. Just direct connect (using barrell taps) to the OEM foglight wiring.
This is how my lights work, as currently configured:
- When on AUTO
A) Once headlights turn on, primary foglights turn on
B) Convenience Lighting, when I unlock, primary, secondary and parking lights turn on (I have Euro inserts, so no more sidemarkers showing)
- When Parking lights only on
A) primary foglights and parking lights turn on
- When Primary Foglight Swithc turned on (1 pull from headlight on position)
A) Secondary foglights only come on with the OEM primary foglight switch.
What we were considering doing, if I re-wire, is tapping into the OEM Rear foglight wiring for the secondary fogs (2 pulls), and re-wire the primary fogs to turn on with the primary foglight switch (1 pull).
Thing is, that's a lot of routing and it's a PITA. I really like the fact that all my foglights turn on when I have the convenience lighting on. Makes for a really cool effect. Right now, I just have to fix the quick connects because one of them is loose, so one of the fogs turns on/off intermittently.

Even though we'll all be grubbin' on KBBQ tonight, hope the boys are ready to go. Supposedly, Pau is gametime decision, so hopefully Drew's shoulder is ready to take the pounding on the inside. Then again, the Clips won't have Blake Griffin for 6 weeks either. What is it with that franchise and their #1 draft picks getting hurt.
What I thought I had upgraded to with my brakes (030 Performance package for SLK 55) turns out is NOT the 030 Performance Package. Bought 2 new front rotors (because they needed to be replaced) and purchased the 030 rotors anticipating that would fine. Turns out, based on the part numbers my shop gave me afterwards, that I only have the plain SLK rotors!!! This thread confirmed it:

I bought this setup from pshek a few years ago and it's been great, but now I'm wondering if I didn't necessarily "ugprade" from my stock setup.
I love my car, but all of this stuff is starting to be a waste of time for me and I'm on the verge of wanting to sell. Sorry, just had to vent a little.
You can't exchange them? You never measured them until now?
How's the car been treating you?
Already exchanged and installed. What I was really, really tempted to do was just buy the calipers too and swap!...hahaha. But spending another bulk amount of money just to do that would've been a dumb move.
Nah, never measured...just assumed (my fault). I just took PShek's word for it that it was the 030 setup. He probably didn't even realize at the time either. I have no complaints about the SLK setup though. Still awesome. Rears are the same on the 030, and I definitely felt more secure with the 6 piston calipers (regardless of the smaller rotors).
Already exchanged and installed, so I'm content. Car has been quirky as of late. I still have WAY less miles than all the O.G.'s (just barely getting to 78k), but all the common problems with the chassis are starting to show up.
If anything, I'll have a new daily driver soon and this car will be my weekend/fun car. I'm actually shooting to jump on the C204 bandwagon (I like how the coupe looks a lot and my parents need a new car).
Alternator needed to be replaced, had a coolant leak (which there was a crack in one of the hoses that was replaced), installed new rotors/pads in front, replaced spark plugs, etc.
I have to say, the new mechanic that I was recommended to is really, really great. For those of you looking for a mechanic you can trust, I recommend this shop highly.
They're located in Woodland Hills/Canoga Park area (San Fernando Valley). Shop is called M.B.Z. Motors and the owner's name is George. Great guy and his techs do a great job. And, without getting into details about how much I paid, let's just say that I was extremely surprised at how affordable he was able to make it for me.
