19" Rims VS. Rolled Fenders

OK, so here some more input I got today from a well known local rim shop here in town. They put out a few calls for me, said that 20s are not happening on the C230 Sport, also said that you would have to roll the fenders if you were to put 19"s on a C230SS, you would have to roll the fenders. I have also been told by the guys I ordered my rims from said that it would be no problem. So, heres my question. For those of you who have put 19s on a C230SS (preferably 2005), did you have to get your fenders rolled?

excites your girlfriend
I thought 19's would fit without mods.
www.velocitymotoring.com has 19's they said they would fit on a stock c230 ss.

Thats what I thought too, when I ordered them. Then, afterwards, is when I was told that the fenders had to be rolled. Kinda confused, guess we'll find out when they get here. Scheduled for delivery on the 18th, but my car is also going to be in for my first 1-3K service appointment, get the allignment touched up(with stock rims), and they have to look at the leather on one of the seats. It will be in for service on Wednesday the 20th.

It's all going to depend on the offset of the wheel.

You could put 20 on your car, check Official C-Class Picture Thread page 116..but I don't know how sinyo1 made it to fit, with or without rubbing...esspecially on the front wheel.
I have 05 c230k with 19 staggered on my car and no fender rolling. Rubbing or not is depend on how low you lower the car.

Absolutely.

The coupe has less clearance than the sedan. I have 19" wheels 8.5"/9.5" staggered, 37mm offset, with 235/265 tires and no rubbing at all.

A few people have put 10" wheels with 275 tires on the rear of the coupe/sedan. Just requires the correct offset.

i have 19s staggered.. my car is pretty low... my fender sits bout a finger above the rim.. so some tire is still visible.. i had to roll my fenders... it depends on the offset and on how low your car is..

Alright, I'm resurrecting this old thread...

I'm planning on lowering my car with H&R Springs (rear pad 3 or 4 b/c I don't like the rear a lot lower than the front), my current wheels are set up with an offset of +31mm in the fronts running 235/35/19 and an offset of +37mm in the rears running 265/30/19. I'm using +3mm hubcentric spacers/centering rings on all four wheels. So I guess the offsets would be +34mm and +40mm respectively.

Do I need to roll my fenders? I know ef1motorsports charges $50 per corner to roll, so I was thinking of just rolling the rears if needed. I'm honestly hesitant of rolling my fenders b/c I'm worried that it could damage the body/paint...

Sorry if this is a n00b question, but I've searched (hence bringing back this old thread) and I just want to do it right... Plus, we know the suspension is changed for 05 and up, so there aren't that many 05 and up threads regarding issues like this.

Thanks!

-Phil

running on 19x8.5 fronts and 19x9.5 rears. both front and rear fenders covers about half the tire's wall (no gaps whatsoever). have super street tein coil overs with 12.15 mm front spacers and 7.1 mm spacers in the rear. i still rub in the rear.

How about for the set of 19" TSW Bremma (8.5 ET32 and 9.5ET35), are they gonna rub if I were to put 235/35 and 265/30 Toyo T1R? Also, I will lower the car with H&R spring and whatever spring pad I have on the car. It's for C240 btw.

Thanks in advance for any input

So I take it that you did have your fenders rolled?

Phil, I didn't get to go yesterday, but I'm going next weekend for sure, so I'll have info for you by the time I go there. I can check how much they charge for rolling the fenders too.

You should not need to roll.

dammit! I guess I shoulda gone with the Bremma's! what a difference 2mm in the front and 5mm in the rear makes...

I guess when I do lower, I'm just going to have the rears rolled.

Thanks for all your help guys!

Staggered wheels means the rear wheel is wider than the front wheel.

NP< but you should still be careful about tire selection, a few mm makes a big difference,

I think I will go with Toyo T1R F(235/35/19) and R (265/30/19). Do you have any experience with this tire set up? Anyone?

Thanks in advance

offsets are very very critical. if you have to roll the fenders it's not bad.

the tire sizes is the usual size everyone goes with 235/35 with 8.5 front and 265/30 with 9.5 rear.
