2006 ordering guide now at dealers

I've heard the dealers now have the ordering guide for the 2006. Can someone with access to the guide tell us what colors/options have been added or dropped from the 2005 ?

for the 2005s the leather inserts is the perforated portion of the seat only. And as a cost cutting measure for 2005 I believe the whole rear seat is MB-tex where before the perforated portion was leather in the rear. My C320 has the leather inserts and I like them a lot, the only thing I miss is the nicer door panels on the full leather car.

Thanks a bunch, Jim - it appears a number of colors were dropped.

Can you share which individual (or package group) options have been added/dropped?

From what I've seen, everything stays the same except option #293 - rear side air bags, which I always thought was standard. Maybe a mistake?

Does this mean that 2006 will still have the 1.8 kompressor engine? It seems that 2006 is on the MBUSA site, although the actual 230WZ page still says 2005, the intro c sedan page says 2006.

Not correct information people. There will be many more colors than this. Please wait for official updates to the MBUSA and MBCANADA websites and press releases for the real information. That pathetic demo 2006 sheet is crap and not accurate at all. Damn forums always messing up peoples minds with false info.

It may be wrong. It appears to come from MBUSA, but since it went through a 3rd party, it could have been changed.

Well after my side impact accident, and the side curtains and rear airbags doing their thing and keeping everyone in the car safe and scratch free, be smart and make sure to pay the extra $$$ for this option!

The '05's already have this has a standard feature plus have the AMG body kit on them. I've heard rumors that the 06's wont have the sporty AMG body kit on them any more? Any truth to this?

The guy I bought my last 2 Benz's from at MB of S. ATL said the 230 would keep the AMG kit.

Insiders on other forums have said (at least for Canada), AMG kit remains on the SS, and rear airbags remain standard.... I believe only the USA loses them (sorry!)

However, I'd still wait for the official release to confirm.

I saw the memo at the dealer entitled "Modifications vs MY05". The things that looked like they were changing (besides the colour and interior colour) that i remember were:

1. Something about a new head restraint system
2. Rear Airbags are no longer standard.
3. Changes in the Head Unit require Sirius Radio to be only installed at Factory.
4. Extra climate temperature control thingy or something like that.
5. Head Unit can play MP3's
6. Premium sound H/K system is no longer standard on C350

The two things that were important to me that my salesman and I looked for were:

1. Loss of AMG kit
2. Changes in Staggered wheelset as the German Website mentions all 4 are the same size.

We could not find them in the memo.

I also remember there were only 2 Sports Sedans, the c230 and the C350.

I guess the memo is not a final release but it still looks like the AMG Kit will be standard in 06.

it use to be standard...now I believe on some of the '06 models they're optional now because MB is now using High Strength/Low Alloy steel in the body and structure now so it's safer than before and they felt the rear side airbag did not have to be standard to be just as safe as it is now with the new materials used.

Example of this is the new ML. As well as the side airbags are now mounted on the seat itself and not the door.

Appearance! We want phatt rear wheels/tires Okay, you probably get a performance advantage with a wider contact patch.
Non-staggered are more practical because they allow front-to-rear tire rotation.

Ordering Guide

Yea, they have the ordering guide. It lists out the options, you can "build" a car but you can't price or order a car.

Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating! I want the ordering process to be finished! MB cannot keep customer hanging while they get off their collective buttocks.

This is giving me (and alot of other customers) the opportunity to look at other manufacturers. I do not "want" a '05 that doesn't have the colors or options I want. I am not going to comprimise on what features I want.

Damnit, it's been a month since I first went to the dealership to buy a car.
