Wheel Question...
It only looks good with certain colors.
Someone actually said, that he got them like that from the dealer. Not sure if it was a used or new car.
I'm sure they'll post soon enough......
They look great on Brilliant Silver AMG Sport Coupé.
A lot of people at first told me that chrome would not look good on Silver,
but I went ahead with it anyway. Don't regret it one bit !!
I love the shiny new look ! It totally makes the car stand out....
all I get now are compliments ! So......... go for it !!!!

Personnally, Chrome rims give a car (any car) a taste of class. This is not 1/2 way to spinners by any means. Spinners are a fad, quick in, probably quick out.
Chrome rims, have been on luxuary cars for the longest time. Some of us are outta high school and college so we can remember when the painted silver/grey rims first came into style. Back in the day, you bought silver if you could not afford the chrome. Oddly enough, i was pricing out rims not so long ago.... still the same!
Also think back to the old school dayz... The caddi's, lincolns, benzo's, rollz, etc...... all chrome rims (and wood interior's, come to think about it) ALL CLASS! Mustangs, Civics, Cavaliers, Sentra's, Celica's... Silver 5-star wheels (and vynal interiors) Pinto's, Mavricks, Vega's, Gremlins... Hub caps (and plastic interiors. Camero's... non-matching wheels on blocks (and missing parts of interiors)
I do think that to go chrome or not to go chrome is a taste of personal preference.... but we are driving a mercedes, and 10-15+ years ago, these were mostly all top end luxury cars in the auto industry. So its nice to see people chroming out their rims even if they are 17" and not 19"
Many advantages over 17's.... #1. Rubber replacement #2. POTHOLE DAMAGE less likely #3. Smoother Ride.... disadvantage... side wall flex :-(
Just my 2-bits worth.. only an opinion
I would have never guessed that! I was seriously considering taking my "C7" rims in for chroming. Sailor, do you remember where you read or heard this, i'm interested in reading up on that.
On the other hand, I think the US and Japanese manufacturers do offer chrome plated wheels from the factory. Somehow their process is OK. Or maybe the ones they offer are only polished, not plated.

Only thing i was trying to say, is that CHROME RIMS have been around forever, and typically give luxury cars a bit more class.
Now obviously a C class coupe really does not have any luxuary or class, but chrome rims on it are not going to make it any "less" of a car, its all personal preference.
The way i see it, is the "c" coupe is like the Mercedes version of the CRX or MX3. So maybe dressing the car up with chrome and wood, would be out of place, but it may just make it a little nicer car as well. OR we could put on some cheesy aftermarket grey 5 stars, toss in some Purple Neons, Ricarro Seats, a ebay body kit, torch cut the springs, and add some NOS and pimp da bass on sat night. Either way, its our personal car, and it may make it a nicer car....
and an opinion is still an opinion.
But, if you like it, that's cool with me. To each his own.
