Check out my re-badge PIC!!!
I know it is not cool to re-badge with bigger numbers or AMG etc but I think that I may have found a fun exception. I just got back from Europe and picked up this little gem for my 05 230 SS. There is a 180 Kompressor available over there and I figured that my car is a 1.8L so I may as well advertise it as such.
The best part is that I picked it up from the dealer in Sindelfingen so it does not get any closer than 'from the factory' than that.

the only ones who can truly claim a C230K badge are the older M111 engines !

thats pretty cool. i was thinking about that. the C230 dose nto have the 2.3 but a 1.8 the c180 would be correct. the only thing that i dont like about it, is people (atleast the ones i have talked to) thing the bigger the number the better the car. Thus 230 over the 180 would be more expence/better. just a comment. good debadge though nice and straight.

People who think that, just don't know enough about cars, MB's specifically.
No one can figure out the BMW numbering system, when most of their different series cars use the same LITER capacity engines.
For instance, I believe the C180, C230, is much better than the C240 (despite the rash of arguments on this board, which I hope have ceased).
Bigger number does not always equal better car. IMO.
I wish MB would have changed the badging when the M111 line was replaced by the M271. I understand that for marketing purposes though they wanted to keep the C230K moniker. True enthusiasts however, I would think, would rather have a true reflection of their power-base, and I think C180K hits the spot !

The 2003 C230 Coupes had a "1.8" badge on the fender, I would use that one If I could find it since it would be in the same font.

2002 C230K Coupe & 2005 C230 SS
There are three versions of the C180, two of them Kompressors. How would you differentiate?
I did see a C230K coupe once which had a 1.8 on the front fender between the door and the wheel well
