1st annual philly c-coupe meet on 6/30...
turbovr6vw - white c-coupe w/ everything except COMAND & phone
greg230 - w/ everything except headlight washers and heated seats - COMAND, motorola phone, stage 2 hids, white side markers, norway setting
tommy - 3 color custom leather, renntech spoiler, renntech shifter w/ custom boot, 3M xpel system
columbus - GPS ipaq system, renntech shifter
young - umm, had a renntech pulley in the trunk... and stage 1 hids
soltan(?) - a whacked soobie WRX (260+ hp!)
met at my office parking lot (while security did rounds in their truck) - hung out a little, headed over to manayunk and its art festival, went to Auto Addictions and looked at some stuff - asked a few questions, had lunch at le bus (thanks greg!
), met up w/ columbus who got lost b/c of my poor directions (sorry
), and went back to the office lot. greg, columbus and tommy took a few pics and i hope they post some.we met at 11 and i think we left around 5pm! thanks for everyone showing up; it was a lot of fun talking about cars (not geeky at all), life and getting to know each other.
it was interesting the little things that were different between the slightly older models and the newer ones. for example: the inside trunk emergency release button has a raised translucent ring that makes it harder to accientally press (presumably by moving cargo in the trunk) in the newer models. actually, i didn't even realize that green button was there
also, the plastic trunk underlayment is somewhat fragile as it isn't very well supported structurally... be sure to not drop anything very heavy on it or it will crack.
i also found out that i am not as conscientious about cleaning the car as i thought i was when compared to a couple of others...
. how many of you carry cleaning supplies in the trunk for some emergency cleaning? c'mon, confess and post. it'll make you feel better
columbus' IPAQ GPS system was very cool! and quite accurate when we tested it.
all in all, it was very cool to meet everyone. we have to do it again!

btw, although it turned out to be a c-coupe meet, all models are welcome!
---
i see that tommy has posted something about me and riding the soobie... yes, i was a little nervous as the soobie seemed to be a neck-snapper! but it was quite exhilarating and a lot of fun!

The most incredible thing to me was Young's first line: everyone had C7. I thought that was impressive. It also was cool that the most popular color was Orion (as it should be!); don't know many gtg scenarios where that would be possible. And that was even with Rick blowing off the second straight area meet!
On a serious note, I want to thank Young for organizing the meet (though he did forget to offer the Benzsport stickers :p ), and Greg for lunch. I'll buy next time, but only if there's at least one other boozer - I felt strange being the only alcoholic at the table.

I thought you'd be used to it by now! You know there is help for people like you. :p
I've got two cars; bring on the Jaeger!
Only if you think it's a problem!

I'm still going to get the Weathertec hatch liner that Columbus has, though. Better safe than sorry, and I can't let Columbus have anything on his car that I don't have on mine.
Well, if Evosport will fix the "Upload Pictures" part of the board, I'll post them, but I've only got a couple. Greg took the lion's share of them.

Too bad I missed lunch - I'm usually the lone drinker. In Germany, everyone has a beer for lunch, no big deal; but here, people look at you funny, like uh-oh...
I'm still trying to catch up to you, tommy, but yes, the Weathertech trunk liner is good to have. Plus you'll need the iPAQ PocketCopilot Navman GPS if you want to hang with me
Lunch will be on me next time.
Young - the Soobie pilot was Sergei from Ukraine. He's still scheming getting 260 horses into it; in the meantime, 227 didn't feel bad, did it - judging from your ear-to-ear grin when you got out of the passenger seat. Now why didn't anyone take a picture of that?!
Thanks again for organizing it (and I was late cause we left too late...okay, I'm blaming Serge...), young! It was great seeing you all there.
Chris
Hey young - where did you see that? I can't find it. It did feel like 260 hp, huh? Actually bone-stock 227...unless the downpipe gets a few more. But I'm sure Sergei will figure out a way to get there. Perhaps by importing an STi from Britain...
Thanks again - Serge and I had a great time; too bad we missed lunch with you guys. Hope to do this again real soon. See how many different colors we can get together with the Coupe!

yeah, serge said that the downpipe added 30hp, the itg filter +3-4 hp, so i did some quick calculations and came up w/ about 260. he said he wants to get it to 300hp. at least i think that's what he was saying as i was grabbing onto the panic bars as we spun around a little in the parking lot!

I had fun.
Check this website: http://www.turboxs.com stage 2.
I have theirs stage 2 minus their piggyback computer wich makes 30 HP and muffler (5-7 HP).
They claim 303 HP at crank 303 - 37 = ~266 HP.
Installing this week uppipe which gives me around 10 HP extra and spool of turbo 500 RPM earlier.
Will keep you posted on a progress.
If anybody feel adventurous we can go to autoX to test limits of your car and that device (how its calling... hmmm) located btw driver seat and a steering wheel.
.Serge.

At same time I don't want to lower my car, because sometimes I take my car to off-road, rally cross, don't want to loose my suspension on a gravel road
.So my car is not prepaired for autoX full time.
