Hello.
Well I finally decided to join the dark side.
I traded in my 04 S2000 and got a 05 C230K. Wow what a difference. Although it was hard and missing the S, the MB is so much better in quality and easier to drive. Talk about technology :p So I'm learning a lot of MB so go easy on me. I know there are so major tuners out there especailly the big ones but are there any others?? I'm not talking about renntech and those companies. Does anyone have a list? Also, have a few questions.
1. Does anyone do their own oil change?
2. Can you put a CAI in that car?
3. I hear you can only get certain kinda of wheels because of the calipers.
4. Has anyone put on the 3M bra?
Sorry if this is all a repost

I'm a newbie too on MB but have learned alot on reading thru on the forums and experimenting. I tried the 3M bra on the hood, headlights, etc and don't like it. First of all, you should have a professional to install it because I had such a hard time molding the 3M plastic on the headlights and trying to make it perfect without a bubble. I eventually took it off because I didn't like the appearance of it. I think it looks like something the dealer forgot to take off when delivering the car to you.
You can change the oil yourself but have to stick with Synthetic and OEM filter.
You definitely have to research on this forum on wheels. I hear 19's rub and you lose performance on the sedan. I will most likely purchase 18's because I live NYC and conditions are horrible on the road.
Good Luck on your car.

It's a sedan. I'm having trouble finding group buys and still learning this website. The dealer wanted to charge 900 bucks for the 3m but here in Oregon, in the winter time they throw out gravel and it sucks. But yeah it does look like something the dealer forgot to take off. BUT in the long run when I sell the car, it won't be beat up as bad. I really don't know if you can do a whole lot of stuff for the c230k. I've been looking at the CAI but after looking under the hood it doesn't look like it will take one. But heck what do I know.
So I'm just doing my research to try and figure out what to start getting or modding. So things I'm looking at are things like exhaust, cosmetic stuff, and minor eninge performance tuning.

You must be kidding about the gravel. Sounds like your driving off road with your rear wheel drive benz. New York folks have to avoid potholes and in the winter, big a$$ rock salt is the killer. Thats why I drive my Jeep so I don't have to worry about destroying my benz. Just lucky enough to have two vehicles.
The 3M is very expensive to install. You can purchase it yourself for under $200 and do it yourself with the video instructions. Or I would recommend a leather bra instead so that you can take it off when you need too.
I was looking into changing the air filter but only product I have found is the Green Airfilter that they use for the AMG model.

Thanks everyone. I got the Diamond Black Met w/sunroof package, heated seats, and cd changer and paid a little over 33K out the door. I loss so much on the trade in for the S. That car is really fun to drive but you have to drive it hard and when you're in traffic, it really sucked.
That's the reason why I got the MB. :p
But like everyone I started to get the modd bug but there just doesn't seem to be a lot of stuff out there for this car.
So I'm trying to do the minor things most people do which is exhaust, cai, wheels and ice.
By the way, I live in Portland. Anyone else here from Or?

Get the clear mask. I commute about 110 miles on I-5 everday and wouldn't go without it, especially on a black car. You'll notice a line going across the hood, but it better than rock chips. IMO, the vinyl bras are horrible. Scratched the heck out my the hood on my Honda, plus it's just ugly.
